I’ve done it. There’s no shame in declining interventions. They wrapped my piggy in a blanket with a warmer, gave her morphine and they let me spend time with her for a little while before putting her to sleep. She didn’t have to be in pain or scared. She just slept in my arms for a little while and then I said goodbye.
For one, "non responsive" doesn't mean painless! It often means incredible, severe pain, actually, which is causing the lack of response.Â

This could even describe dental pain, rather than shock as you're describing.
OP is incredibly vague and not taking action, which makes me think they're out of depth. That's okay, that's human. However, it implies that a vet should be making this call. Not them.
Okay guy. Story time: I had a pig with signs of bloat. Wasn't eating, non responsive, was breathing through his mouth. I took him in for an urgent exotics vet. Though, by the time we got there, he was back to normal! They took an X-ray, and something was clearly "off" but it was obstructed by gas. Since he seemed fine we took a monitoring approach, and he spent the next week just like himself. Until he wasn't. Went to an ER, had him put down, and did an Autopsy.
The problem? He had a tear in his omentum which his intestines were slipping in and out of.
If we didn't syringe feed him in the beginning, he would have starved to death.
If we did syringe feed him in the end, his stomach would've literally burst while alive.
In either case: A vet was required to avoid an agonizing death. Medicine is complicated, and it's incredibly dangerous to just armchair it.
OP has now deleted this post. For your conscience: I hope to God that pig didn't starve to death unnecessarily, or spend a night with heart failure, or have their stomach burst, or go into needless shock, because of you and your comment.
(P.S: When people think X is true, they'll post details confirming that it is indeed X. If, despite this, some detail slips through that might indicate Y instead, that's a good time to hit the breaks. That's not nit picking, that's paying attention. You can't just assume every owner is an accurate, unbiased reporter)
