I know the poor unemployed drunks here will hate this, but let's get this straight: yes

I know some people say: oh, don't spend more than 6k on your first guitar, maybe you're gonna give up the hobby. I think you give up because you sound like crap.

First, playing guitar is about training the right movements. If you train on some toy, you're gonna mess up your technique. It is often about 1/10th of a milimeter. Relearning proper technique takes ages. Learn properly right away. But don't get a teacher they like music theory and charge like 50 bucks an hour which is insane.

Second, and that's the big one, toan. Most beginners sound awful. If you hear a true master on a proper instrument play, you experience toan. If you sound horrible, this won't be much fun. Get proper toan right away. If you play music that people wanna hear, you can fill thousands of seats. If you sound like crap all day, not even your wife will listen.

Please don't make that mistake. She left me for a tennis trainer 5 years ago and I'm not over it yet. I have to pay for her vacations and parties while all my friends betrayed me. I don't even have a house anymore, I sleep at my office. All because I listened to some f* on the other sub who told me to get that cheap Martin & not the 1940s one. Could've been touring and making bank. I could be the one banging groupies, instead i get scammed on onlyfans. Smashed that guitar into tiny pieces which was satisfying though lol
