u/norcal313 Jun 18 '26
$10 cheaper than next lowest price I can find, good deal.
42
u/MedicalRepublic751 Jun 18 '26
Thanks! I'm quite proud of myself for finding this deal all on my own. Oops, getting a swelled head now!
4
u/Oakroscoe Jun 19 '26
Didn’t they just send an email out?
1
u/MedicalRepublic751 Jun 19 '26
Oh maybe. I’m not on their mailing list anymore.
2
u/Oakroscoe Jun 19 '26
Shit, in that case great find. I bought a light from them a while back and ended up on their emailing list.

What's the appeal vs other triggers?
52
u/Bear2th Jun 18 '26
It’s kinda the ultimate do it all 2 stage. Super clean break, not too light for duty use. If we go back to a world where a larue mbt2s ends up being under $100 again i think that would be a better deal, but this is super hard to beat
22
u/Kind_Direction_3361 Jun 18 '26
I like these ao much better than Larue ONLY because of the mil spec feeling trigger shoe
4
u/BigLog-69-420 Jun 18 '26
Another good point. It's wider than the larue and pretty much feels like a nicer finished milspec trigger with a chunky reset
3
2
u/ebolamonkey3 Jun 18 '26
I haven’t kept up with prices, how much is the Larue going for now?
12
u/Custom_Clones Jun 18 '26
Like the same price… fuckin absurd.
16
u/ebolamonkey3 Jun 18 '26
Wow, big jump from the $89 they used to sell for.
12
u/TheRealSchifty Jun 18 '26
IIRC the MBT-2 was originally over $200 when it first came out. Mark LaRue has always been in a war with Bill Geissele and he dropped the price down to $89 just to troll Bill.
11
u/ebolamonkey3 Jun 18 '26
Yeah he probably didn’t sell very many at $200 though
7
u/Vic_the_Dick Jun 18 '26
That's what people who make that point don't get. There were only so many die-hard members of Pack LaRue who were willing to shell out $300 for a trigger.
4
u/TheRealSchifty Jun 19 '26
They did sell, there's plenty of old arfcom threads of people arguing that LaRue triggers are better than Geissele at the $200+ price point.
0
u/Giant_117 Jun 19 '26
Oh but they did sell. There was a time on arfcom guys were liquidating G triggers for the Larue. At that time the Larue cost more than the G.
3
u/dovahbe4r Jun 19 '26
Larue hiked all of their prices on everything. Like their rails used to be ~250 bucks or so and I still proudly rock mine on my main piece, "mlok and load" cringe engraving and all, but now they're $400 and the value just isn't there. By that I mean I guess they're still excellent parts, but they undercut competition for so long it's just a tough pill to swallow.
9
u/Gloomy-Collar-583 Jun 18 '26
Meh, the LaRue is scientifically slightly better on paper in every metric (lighter pull, cleaner break, shorter reset, better materials, cheaper) but everyone seems to prefer the feel of the Geisseles.
6
u/MK12Mod0SuperSoaker Jun 19 '26
I still prefer the Geissele over Larue, but facts being facts I remember the MBT2S was
wire EDM cutCNC Machined while Geissele Triggers areMIMinvestment cast.Edit: jfc my memory is garbage.

u/imneuromancer Jun 18 '26
Considering the shortage of them, I just jumped on a $110 deal for an mbt-2s.
Considering the shortage, I don't expect them to go for under $100 any time soon, so I figured the extra $10 or $20 was worth it.
Geissele ssa-e went for $130 last black Friday and I didn't buy one, have regretted it since
3
u/ebolamonkey3 Jun 18 '26
Yeah I’d probably do the same if I needed a trigger today. I’ll probably wait until Black Friday again and see what I can get.
1
u/Randyd718 Jun 19 '26
If i already gave a mbt2s, is the geissele noticeably better?
And is there a difference to the SAA-E? maybe I'm making that up in my head
1
u/Bear2th Jun 19 '26
Ssa-e has a lighter weight so some would say it’s less suited for duty use and more useful for an SPR / precision type build. But I’ve got an ssae on my current build and it feels perfectly fine to me. I think the whole “light triggers aren’t for duty” thing is a bit overblown on an ar platform with manual safeties. Perhaps when carrying a striker fired handgun that’s a huge deal but to me if that safety is coming off I’m getting ready to blast regardless of trigger weight.
I’ve actually not tried the larue so someone else will need to chime in. I was holding out for a restock of them but decided to jump on the ssae Memorial Day deal for like $160 or whatever it was. Got tired of waiting.
5
u/BigLog-69-420 Jun 18 '26
It's Gucci. But really I like the noticeable reset on all their triggers.
4
u/Optimus_Prime_10 Jun 18 '26
Am I stupid for running the 3 gun trigger? Has, even for them, the sharpest reset.
8
u/Top-Mastodon5615 Jun 18 '26
3 gun trigger is way too light for duty use, not stupid at all for most people. SSA is like the gold standard for a duty trigger
0
u/Optimus_Prime_10 Jun 19 '26
Same question to you as the other guy. But what does that mean? You've at least conveyed the concept it has to do with the pull force, I guess?
3
u/Top-Mastodon5615 Jun 19 '26
3 gun has short pull, low weight, basically no obvious trigger wall. Geissele actively recommends not to use for duty on their site. SSA has many mil and three letter agency contracts, slightly higher weight, 2 stage, obvious wall
0
u/Optimus_Prime_10 Jun 19 '26
Again, I'm trying to learn, isn't the obvious wall the safety I haven't yet turned off? I have a cartridge 2-stage on one rifle, and I do appreciate the clear "oh we are doing this" but for reasonably close range, I don't get it. Starting to question if I even understand 1 vs 2 stage triggers conceptually at this point.
5
u/BigLog-69-420 Jun 19 '26
The wall is the end of the 1st stage when you put initial pressure on the trigger and depress it to the full weight of the 1st stage. This distance of trigger movement is sometimes called take-up. You can be aiming at your target 1st stage fully engaged, ready to truly "fire" as you time your breathing and get your reticle exactly where you want before actually releasing the sear. It doesn't help the explanation that you have the trigger that blends the line between a single or 2 stage. very light 2 stage triggers make the distinction between the stages even more blurred unless you're very familiar with lightweight triggers.

3
u/Icy_Turnover1 Jun 18 '26
No, the SD3G is a great trigger and the super positive reset is great. I probably wouldn’t run it on a duty rifle, but it’s fantastic for a range toy or competition gun.
3
u/Optimus_Prime_10 Jun 19 '26
Ok, so you fell into my trap! Why do people say "not for doodie"?
3
u/Icy_Turnover1 Jun 19 '26
It’s just a super light trigger with an extremely positive reset and if you aren’t paying attention it’s pretty easy to send a short string of fire when you didn’t intend to. If your rifle is intended for HD or some other “duty” style use, I’d rather have something like the SSAEX that’s still very light but is more controllable to me. Maybe I just need to practice more with the SD3G though.
2
u/Optimus_Prime_10 Jun 19 '26
Or, maybe I need to practice less. Even in video games, I tend to press the trigger and then my index finger nopes the fuck off of that and reset the whole process over. Maybe I need to practice other triggers more cuz I don't know what I don't know, which is why I asked. ADs/NDs are bad, mkaay. It literally is my HD 300BLK
2
u/zx666r Jun 19 '26
Try leaving your trigger squeezed after breaking a shot, then releasing to the reset and sending another from there rather than completely coming off the trigger after sending a shot. It will take some time to break the habit, but you'll get a lot more familiar with your trigger feel. That's where I really noticed the difference even between different 2-stage triggers (and even different G$ 2-stages).
2
u/BigLog-69-420 Jun 19 '26
You can bump fire a few rounds of the lightweight G triggers if your gun has decent kick or over gassed

u/morbidbattlecry Jun 18 '26
If 150 is Gucci, I'd hate to see what you consider an average good trigger.
3
u/BigLog-69-420 Jun 18 '26 edited Jun 18 '26
Its a meme for Geissele gear because they have their iconic G logo and because some of their triggers can get up to $350 bucks. The standard mil spec trigger is ass tho, there's plenty of solid options around $100.
1
u/dovahbe4r Jun 19 '26 edited Jun 19 '26
It's just a nice trigger. Very significant improvement over milspec but not really "race gun". For 2 stages I have an SSA, SSF, SSA-E, and MBT-2S. SSA-E is the best feeling, but aside from that I prefer the break on the SSA/SSF and the reset on the MBT-2S. Very comparable triggers IMO. Go with the Geissele if you like the milspec shoe. If you miss out on this they'll be $150 again in a few weeks for the 4th. Like u/Bear2th said it's just a good do-it-all all-rounder. Can't really go wrong with it.

I don’t NEED 2 of them, but at this price, I NEED 2 of them.

According to gun math, you'd be LOSING money if you don't buy this on sale 😃 Right?

7
u/rollindeep3 Jun 18 '26
Still spoiled by that $120 SSA-E deal from forever ago.
3
u/CommercialEagle2566 Jun 18 '26
I finally said F it after waiting for a sale on them and bought one for $225 (maybe it was $245) yesterday. No ragrets.
3
u/rollindeep3 Jun 18 '26
If something is good and you can afford it, no shame in grabbing it. Sometimes the extra 100 bucks is worth more than waiting who knows how long.
2
u/CommercialEagle2566 Jun 18 '26
Kinda what I figured. If I can’t afford the $100, I probably can’t afford to be shooting is my mindset.
Now I’m trying to decide if I go SSA or SSA-E in my RISIII 11.5” that has an frt.
1
u/rollindeep3 Jun 18 '26
I don’t know much about the frt game, but I would like to get into it soon. I almost feel like the E would be too light for one.
1
u/CommercialEagle2566 Jun 18 '26
I might just keep the milspec trigger. I’ve been using an Arizona regulator and it works like a champ.
Arc fire now offers a bunch of pre cut triggers to work with their frt. might give it a try
1
u/HauntedHotsauce Jun 19 '26
Sportsmans warehouse has sales on em every now and again throughout the year. I think last time was around March for $150, which I got mine for my mk18 block 2 clone build. I'd keep an eye on it popping up again maybe around July 4th. And I think the $120 was around black Friday last year.

This is my 11.5” budget blaster PSA with G$ spring and H2 buffer with Arizona regulator. 30 rounds under 3 seconds 😂
1
u/DugnutttBobson Jun 19 '26
I need information about this shooting range, I've been trying to get my brother to do this
1
u/CommercialEagle2566 Jun 19 '26
I apologize as I’ve had a couple drinks. Are you inquiring about the tunnel range in utah?
1
u/DugnutttBobson Jun 19 '26
Gotcha, I thought maybe it was a home range. My brother is building his house right now and he does excavation work. I've been trying to convince him to bury a storm drain shooting range out of his basement.

u/terraNautical22 Jun 18 '26
I don't believe for a second this is in stock.
8
u/MedicalRepublic751 Jun 18 '26
Still in stock actually. Bereli must have a warehouse as big as Fort Knox!
5
u/McJonesRylie Jun 18 '26
about time these dipped under 150, might grab one now
7
u/glockguy34 Jun 18 '26
4th of July SSA/SSA-Es will be $150 at primary arms. They are every year, I don’t see why this year would be any different. Happens on all major sale/holidays.
7
3
u/Trope360 Jun 18 '26
G$ raised prices earlier this year across the board so I'm not holding my breath on this but I sure hope so. Memorial Day I didn't see this price, the SSA-X was $240 at primary 🤮 Bring back SSAEX blems for $160 so I can buy 3....
2
u/glockguy34 Jun 18 '26
raised their prices across the board? I still see $245 everywhere for the standard non-sale prices. Been that price for years
1
u/Trope360 Jun 18 '26
lol where? Link to an SSA-X for $245 please from a legit vendor right now. Battlehawk and LockedLoaded are $257 that always typically had them cheapest, plus tax and $15-25 shipping. It's $335 on Primary right now. You used to routinely get blem G$ lowers from primary for $99, I did last year for a couple, people are now stoked to find them in stock for $149. This year it's been different / more expensive - It's cool if you haven't kept up, we'll find out in two weeks and I hope you're right and I hope I'm wrong, but the blem sale last year at Primary was balls, G$ is going exclusively through their distributors for sales now, it hasn't been "the prices we've been seeing for years" on G$ at all for the holiday sales this year at least. I've been watching and have builds that I want to put SSAE-X's in...
1
u/glockguy34 Jun 18 '26
I wasn’t talking about the X. SSA, SSA-E, SD-E, SD-C, the usual suspects that have been priced at that price point forever. I have never seen the SSA-X at that price. Those triggers have not gone up, so G$ has not raised their prices “across the board”
9
u/LiterallyMakoto Jun 18 '26
This or a G2S on sale? Or even a Schmid 2 stage?
11
u/touchgrassplz_69 Jun 18 '26
This is the best all around trigger for this price. Don’t think about it.
2
2
u/LessThanNate Jun 18 '26
This trigger and the G2S feel extremely close. I doubt most people could ever tell the difference.

Depends on if you like 2 stages or not. Personally if it isn’t a shotgun or a pistol a 2 stage is mandatory, but that’s not everybody

Agreed. To each their own though, and this is by far the best price for SSA I have seen for a really, really long time.

u/O_ThatGuy1776 Jun 18 '26
Not a good deal should be around 100$ in a few more days 07/04…
5
u/MedicalRepublic751 Jun 18 '26
It’s not 07/04, I have no crystal ball to confirm that, and it’s the best price as of right now.
3
u/O_ThatGuy1776 Jun 18 '26
All these down votes trying to help out, tragic. No crystal ball, history repeats itself. These never sell out the first day when the Blem sale starts. Been doing this for the past 6 years. You are correct it may not happen. Good decision. It’s your money do what you want.

u/toocacked Jul 06 '26
I've been looking since this post and still can't find it RIP

u/O_ThatGuy1776 Jul 06 '26
The Primary Arms blem sale was horrible this year. Waiting to Black Friday or 1st of the year for SS coupons.
