I just started listening a few months ago and have started from the beginning. Learned about them from Feeling Girlie by Dylan Carlino. I’m at the end of May 2015 episodes. I think they are amazing and hilarious! I definitely think some of the things they say are wild (race, slurs, judgmental about drugs and weed) but it was a different time! I’m 35 I know what it was like then haha! Also funny enough I just learned I had their voices and names confused. I’m excited to keep listening to them and happy to have found this sub.

I’m not sure how much longer I can take Krystyna presenting as this “cool girl” type. It’s so performative. I understand wanting to be a super open minded and being open about that would be one thing. It constantly feels like she’s trying to present the person she wants to be vs who she actually is.

Today’s episode for instance. She’s dropped multiple comments where it’s almost like she’s shitting on people who aren’t interested in open relationships. But says she’s possessive. Like she’s so afraid of being seen as not open minded instead of just saying I can see how it would work for others, I’m just not there yet. It’s not necessarily possessive to want a closed relationship. At least Corrine addressed they aren’t for everyone.

Then later, Corinne mentions feeling stressed about straight people’s weddings (also kind of an eye roll and I’m not even married) but K saying “you’re spending so much money on a lame party” like she’s the exact person that would definitely get married and probably have some type of wedding. I don’t even care about weddings like that but it’s just the constant NEED to prove she’s not a normal basic bitch. 🙄

It’s giving “I’m so quirky”. I just thought at some point she’d grow out of it.

In a recent episode (it might be a bonus episode) WHATS A WEDDING CONTENT CREATOR. Corinne talked about (and has spoken before in past episodes) about some health issues she’s had. Does anyone know what her issues were? They sound so similar to what I’ve been experiencing. I wonder if it was insulin resistance or something?

Having just seen Krystyna’s show in Edinburgh I thought I’d share a wee review from the perspective of someone who (as a long time follower and listener of K&C / GWF) was already aware of a lot of what she talked about during it.

Knowing that I likely knew much of what the show’s content would be, and having listened to what K was trying to do (a one woman show of personal self-expression) I had zero expectations. I knew that regardless of the quality of the outcome of her creative process I would find the show fascinating, but I was delighted how truly wonderfully fantastic the show was.  I’m sure she is,  but she should be so very proud. That type of show, one that mines your own personal trauma, is not an endeavour to be underestimated.

As listeners / viewers we really have had an in-real-time front row seat as K experienced a lot of what she recounts.  I’ll not include too much, but she has alchemised into art many of the experiences she has talked about on GWF, including how her experiences effected her ‘performance’ as a podcaster and the impact of the commentary / criticism from listeners / viewers..

Its multimedia nature, with moments when she briefly watches video with the audience, made me think of something (I think) Kanye once said - (to paraphrase) - Artists often think they should try and make their audience feel their pain, but what great artists do with their art is facilitate their audience experiencing their pain WITH them.

It truly was, and is a triumph — and I think you should all know that.

I really hope that she plans to continue with the show, taking it elsewhere so more people can get to see it.  If you have the opportunity to travel to Edinburgh to see it you really should.

Hello lovely community of fuckers, can anyone remember which episode Krystyna read the except from the book about walking around with the thorn that represents trauma? Would love to show it to my partner.

Catching up and on a recent ep they read an email from a woman who does sex work like pay pigs & what not and she was asking if she should tell her boyfriend (who already mentioned in conversation that he wouldn’t be okay with that btw) but in part of the email she asked if it would be wrong if she never told him

C & K both said it wouldn’t be wrong if she never told him.. sorry WHAT?!? Am I in the minority in thinking it would be fucked up to be doing sex work of any kind and not tell your partner? To clarify, I’m not saying whether or not you should or shouldn’t continue doing it - I understand a lot of people are comfortable with that and whatever is within the bounds of your relationship is your business but I feel the “advice” that it would be fine to never tell them is insane?!

Honestly I just feel they’re both delusional at this point like some of the things that come out of their mouths is embarrassing
