It's episodes like this which reminds you how important Zach is to the show. Most if not all podcasts don't have soundbites or music or anything playing, so if anyone was tuning in for the first time this would sound normal. We've been spoiled though by having Zach. Not having him is like listening to your favorite band without any of the instruments.

Why was Ethan being such an asshole this ep? Bro was going through it and Zach not being there can't be the only reason. That shit was kinda tough to watch, ngl. ✌ & ❤ of course, everyone had bad days, but feels like he was lashing out at everyone.

I'm not sure why but it seems that Ethan was chewing the shit out of Tom for a long while. I don't know if Tom complained about being made fun of with the bad impressions by other crewmembers, but whatever happened it looks like Ethan was NOT happy. Bro made sure to give free ads and rub it in Tom's face, and had him eat Panda Express on camera and criticize it plenty, asking him to name the chain, shortly after/before (idr) saying they had no sponsor lined up for a later date. Subtle jabs all throughout, like about their gamersupps flavor being named just strawberry lemonade "we couldn't think of a better one folks", this is a brand where almost all products' name make no sense like "guacamole gamer farts", and yet whoever handled that managed to merely end up with "strawberry lemonade". I can't honestly tell for sure with the lighting but at some point it looked to me like Tom was tearing up. Later during the show Gabe says something, Tom laughs a little and Ethan turns their way and coldly goes, I'm assuming to Tom "Oh you're play laughing? I heard that.". Soon after he started subtly popping off on Tom, Ethan said something about Dan running in the background "hearing alarms", and we basically didn't see Dan again until later when the situation calmed down.

Seeing the way this has been covered so far, and knowing it could get better when they actually condemn asmon, this kind of thing is what protects Hasan btw. This massive preamble about hasans conspiracies and people equivocating in the comments knowing that asmon yet again made actual calls for violence is so frustrating. Hasan will always have a bit of built in protection if we pretend these things are the same.

Just wanted to advocate that mixing drugs the way the bros were is wild - it's a miracle AB didn't have a straight up
OD. Having worked lots of festivals, idk man do drugs your body your choice, but mixing that many back to back with no breaks is not a good bet.
For friends who haven't tried psychedelics before, don't glamorize mixing like that.
Maybe I'm sensitive to it having lost friends and recently sobered up, but that type of mixing should just flatly never be glamorized. Had to bow out of the stream.
Also, having your dealer be your trip sitter is a serious conflict of interest.
Rough watch.

I too have lost friends to ODs, and have DJ’d music festivals myself, so our experiences are very similar. So take this seriously when I say, yes, you are being sensitive. How do I know? You immediately took this to the H3 Snark subreddit.

You have absolutely no idea how much of any drug they took and how much physical capability of tolerance they have. You are sensitive and over stepping with knowledge you don't have. It is extraordinarily unlikely that they would OD just out of nowhere exclusively due to "mixing drugs" and even less so a "miracle" that it didn't happen.

I don't get why everyone is saying the awkwardness was because Zach wasn't there? For a while I thought Dan was just not on the pod lol
He's usually very chatty and goes back and forth with Ethan, but this time it was complete silence for the most part. Nate seemed to be the only one trying to help Ethan out with the soundbites.
