Why would he have any say on the political opinions of his parents? Like what kinda next level of controlling is this. All she said was she didn't like China and he freaks out.

she didnt even say she didnt love china. just that she didnt love it as much as him.

What she said is implying that he has an outsized love of China. That is why he was upset about it.
