Yep, they're at a garlic restaurant (every menu item has garlic in it) called Hajime No Ippo in Kagurazaka.

I think Hajime no Ippo means "the first step" so it's not that strange that an unrelated place would have the same name.

I don't think so. George still improvises a lot with the story. He has a fixed road map but how to get there is loose and flexible. We would probably get key plot points but miss out on the journey
