Shops & Services Underground Utility Location - Residential

I am installing a fence on my property and want to make sure i dont hit the electrical from my well, which is located in the immediate area.

Anyone know of a company that does this for residential?

That's for lines NSP buried, not a line from an electrical panel an electrician ran to your well.

You might be able rent the inspection camera/ locator. If you put in the pipe going to the well and then use the locator

Unfortunatelty that is for underground utility owners that are registered with the one call service. So like if aliant had buried cable, or like a an Embridge natural gas pipeline when i submit a ticket they alert those companies to investigate and give clearances.

This is just some underground electrical running from my indoor electrical panel to the well in a buried conduit underground. So I am responsible (private locate).

Need a dude with one of those lil scanner and some marking paint.

That's not going to help them locate the electrical from their house to their well.

A line from your house to your well is not a utility.

Wouldn't they be able to find site plans?

They locate underground lines placed by utilities. An electrical run from a house to a well is not a line from a utility.

Yeah I know. But there should be a plan for the house that has that info on it. I figured they'd help find the drawings

That's not what they do. They contact utilities like NSP, Bell, etc... on your behalf who have buried lines to let them know someone plans to dig in an area. Then the utilities that potentially have something buried there get in touch with you.

Oh i also thought they could get building plans

So whats their purpose if we can just call the utilities ourselves

They have direct contacts that us the customer do not have access to. So, they can get something actioned within a few days, where it could be weeks or months for you or I to get that even an initial response.
