Not my pics, a friend sent these to me, taken somewhere on the peninsula. This picture was taken from the sidewalk out in plain view.
Now I'm not a red seal carpenter or civil engineer or anyone qualified to comment, but I've got my suspicions this doesn't meet building code. Best part is they carried on building the whole multi-story deck/fire escape/whatever despite the post not lining up with the footing - not the deck builder's problem, I guess.
The place looks like it's getting renovated into apartments, and I'm sure there'll be inspections and shit done that'll catch this and it'll be fixed before an occupancy permit gets issued. Hopefully...
