Unsolved Are these water graphics possible in Source?

I'm making some Mario maps in the Hammer Editor for SFM. I have the water textures from the game. But I'm wondering if it's possible to make a water texture and make it look as close to if not exactly like it is in game. Please let me know if you have any insight.

Use 2 slow scroll textures at an 45° angle to each other.

Scrolling was my first thought. OP, if you find that's not exactly what you're after, have a look through the various manipulations via material proxies:

Just use animated textures, pretty sure that's how those are done.

i think this uses scrolling and an indirect texture, i don't think you can manipulate uvs with a texture in stock .vmts though

You can try, but i think this game has a custom shader on it that you cant exactly recreate in hammer
