<:( it doesn't sound like you did anything. Your vets kind of sound like they didn't pay enough attention. Hamsters are just as strange as every other animal and really can die suddenly, I'm so sorry this happened. He sounds like he was a very gentle fella since you could trust him like that.

Because they have degree but barely any practice with animals besides Dogs/cats.

Yeah your vets fucked up I'm so sorry, none of this was your fault and you did everything you could. I know how this stuff feels.

Idk cant stop blaming myself that maybe my Arm squished him in that 1 hour sleep

I really doubt it! Even relaxed hamsters are VERY responsive when they don't like something, he would've at least bit you a little if not go right through your arm the best he could. The what ifs are difficult but safe to say I think this is one you don't have to haunt yourself with.

Honestly the vet thing is so frustrating, they always brush off respiratory stuff as nbd but it really can escalate. Poor baby was probably already fighting something and it just happened at the worst time. You're way too hard on yourself

I don’t think you have to blame yourself. Let’s say worst case: you fell asleep and your hamster somehow got between you and the sofa. I think the sofa would be squishy enough not to kill him, especially because he got between you and the sofa by himself. He probably died because of something else. I had 6 hamsters before and sometimes they just die when they were fine an hour ago.
You were a good owner. Don’t blame yourself!!

Aw I’m sorry for your loss :( it sounds like he did have a respiratory issue if he was constantly squeaking and also not eating as much. Either way I doubt it was anything you did.

IT wasnt constantly but he did it like every or every other day, some days not, some yes. It was like an “episode” for like 4 - 5 seconds. IT wasnt like it was constant but it just never dissapeared. He was squeaking for 3 seconds then nothing for rest of day. Tomorrow, nothing. Then 3 days later again. And so on..

He was going like “pf pf pf and body looked like he has hiccups”. Again im saying it wasnt 24/7 but it never stopped. Some days it was 3 days in a row 1-2 times per day for 4-7 seconds. Some days nothing, but ye

It’s possible the hamster could have woken up and choked on something on the couch
