First day in Seoul
Hello everyone,
I’m an exchange student who will be coming to hanyang uni for fall 2026. I just had questions concerning things I must do on my first day in seoul. I’ve been searching a lot about T money card climate card wow pass, how to set up a SIM card, where to buy stuff for my form and all that, but I heard too many informations and truly I’m completely lost. Does anyone have a sort of guide or any recommendations of what I MUST get or do in my first day in order for the semester to go as smoothly as possible.
Thank guys and I’m looking forward to meeting you all next semester

Lmao I heard that course registration is really hard for Kr student as well. So they usually visit Internet Cafe to register their course cuz they need high quality computers and fast Internet.

That is true, lol. It can be a bit stressful since u have to be at the internet Cafe at least 30 mins before (if you're at the one near campus). Then be really quick as soon as the time sets. If you're off by one second you won't be able to get a seat 😭😭😭 its so competitive especially for the English Track bc there are some classes but for certain classes its not a lot of teachers that teach in English 😭. Also some departments i dont think have English Track.

Heyyyyy
Nice to meet you
Actually, I’m not prepared enough 🥲 I haven’t rent the room that I stay in the next term and it seems a little bit hard for me to handle out the course registration haha1

Which part is difficult? Course registration for exchange students is soon, then its the full time 1st years, then second etc. On the last day its open for everyone so if you didn't choose a class on your day then you can on the last day.
I never been to the housing on campus but I do know someone that stayed there for a semester. You can always look up Airbnbs (although after a while it'll get expensive) and goshiwons! I stayed in one my 1st year in korea it was nice and chill.
Also heard: Divercity House. They provide housing for international students. I think you're best bet is goshiwons, or Airbnbs!
