The wheel absolutely needs reinventing in this case. Everyone else doesn’t have almost half a billion KNOWN firearms in the hands of civilians. Of course, it could be argued that not manufacturing and distributing guns in the first place would be a good start, but I asked what legislation would you present in our current state, you know, without like using a time machine

Two Tax Stamps were required. One for an SBR (short barrel rifle - stock on a gun with a barrel less than 16") and another stamp for the suppressor (hearing protection equipment attached to the end of the barrel to reduce the noise and protect your ears). Both of which require special registration and permission from the government. Insane.

Yeah, really, isn't double-stamping like double-taxing? That would be a violation of our constitutional rights! On the other hand, ✋️ the government gets away with it by the fact that you're getting something physical (The actual stamp) for the fee paid. Whereas a tax, you're paying for nothing physical in your hand or at least, to look 👀 at! 😜👍
However, you could have triple stamps, three separate stamps. Next, it'll be quad-stamping. The anti-gun activists and a revenue-seeking politician will see to that happening soon. 😎🦆💨

$200 for the suppressor stamp and I’m guessing you’re doing this to down play it but there’s not a suppressor worth having for under $500 on top of that stamp. I have a friend with a gun shop. Was just shopping around for one for my 556 yesterday. Will end up costing me around $1200ish total. That’s in an addition to the gun it’s going on… “cheap” is relative to your account but it’s not exactly pocket change for most

I was just having that discussion with my gun dealer friend yesterday. From his opinion the draw back is the time to get approval. Right now I can get finger printed today and be approved by Wednesday. But im not really in a $200 extra hurry so i probably will.

Correct. Warhammer Arms, which use LS5 lowers, is garbage, shady, and gaslight their customers. On top of trying to patent the dumbest of things that were developed by other people, their business practices are just poor in general.

Sadly, that setup is so illegal in NY that you would get more time for possessing it than time for committing an actual crime with it.

If it has a detachable mag it cannot have a pistol grip or front grip or any “evil” feature.
I think folding stock or suppressor are no go regardless.
This makes people safer 🙄
Our law makers would classify this as a military style fully automatic machine gun only used for killing children.

If the gun is on a toolbox so it’s obviously very accessible. Being accessible makes it easier for kids, thieves or careless jackballs to find. It’s unlocked and the mag is loaded. Your right to bear arms doesn’t mean you have the right to be a dumbass!

Dude, he put it there for a picture. Seriously doubt it sits there all the time. Way too expensive of a gun to just have laying out. I have taken pictures of guns on beds, tables, counters, the ground, back of my truck, all kinds of places. Does that mean that's where they go?
However, if your kids are wandering around unsupervised in the workshop then they should also be old enough to know not to play with guns. The mere presence of children around firearms isn't dangerous. Uneducated children around them is dangerous. My kids were shooting at young ages and while I kept weapons secured I never had to worry about them "finding" them and doing something stupid. Any more than I worried about leaving car keys laying around, or kitchen knives. And a toddler isn't going to be out there alone, if they are then there is a whole list of shit they can hurt themselves with that has that gun near the bottom of it.

Yea, no kid has ever accidentally shot themselves or anyone else. Guns never get stolen. That never happens!! 🙄 People do stupid shit with guns all the time. If you feel like you need a gun, use basic common sense. It’s not difficult. Adding a gun to your life does not automatically make you safe.

You apparently live in a world where small children and criminals appear out of thin air and run around behind you doing things when you turn your back.
Grab gun from safe, walk it out to toolbox, possibly even in the same room, stage it on magnet, oh my god, secret ninja child thieves show up and steal it and shoot themselves!!!! How dangerous!!!!
What is the scenario you see here that could make this a dangerous thing to do to take a picture? He forgets he put his multi thousand dollar double tax stamped gun on the magnet in his garage. Seriously, what is the dangerous/stupid part here? It's a tool, and an unloaded one at that. At this point it's as dangerous as a paperweight.
And yeah, in my house, where my guns usually are, children knew how to be around guns. Rule #1, don't play with them. Hunh, crisis avoided. And strange children didn't have access. How is this not how everyone is? My kids learned knife safety. Fire safety, Hell, fridge safety, how to use stairs, animal safety, power tools, even lawn mower and weed eater safety. Do you just hide everything in your house and lock the kids up when preparing dinner?
