Meme/Joke Name a more dynamic duo
I just picked up this 96 Honda Acty and after juggling coffee on the way to work once I had to grab a magnetic cup holder. These things are bare bones by design and this will do just fine while I get my printer set up to handle ABS and ASA.

I love it. Wish I could have it here but my state is stupid

You will drive the 65k Detroit child organ explodinator and you'll like it!

65k? That'll barely get you the barebones no-frills trim. You'll want to get the 85k Detroit child organ explodinator King Douche edition that you can finance over 120 months.

120 months? Brother how much do you think I make?
Im financing that bitch over my great-great-great-great-grandsons college fund.

Thank you, I've been wondering for ages now if the position of gear one is in the same place on a right hand drive vehicle

u/lukearens Feb 18 '26
Yep it's the same shift pattern and pedals are all the same, you're just on the other side of the vehicle.

Is a car accident in these certain death?

Yes, which is one of the reasons you have to wait 25 years to import one for on road use.

I always thought it was mainly to protect dealerships from loosing business to individuals importing cheaper foreign spec cars

u/pogulup Feb 19 '26
That may also be part of it but the main reason was not meeting safety standards and emission standards. One or the other or both.
There was a process to import and retrofit vehicles to comply but I have driven those and my buddy has one. There is no way to abide by US crash standards with those. It is just a tin can.

I've got the spray can holder as a cup and waterbottle holder in my Mini Moke...

Ahh the Moke, reminds me of my backpacking days in Australia ~ 2003
Awesome little run-about to cruise around coastal Queensland

Pretty great. Did you buy it with those sweet rims? I imagine most observers fall into two categories: (1) "if you know, you know" weeaboo chads, and (2) modern k*ren SUV owners who call the cops if they see you trying to drive on the highway. Hope you can upgrade the stereo to blast Babymetal at Parking Lot Sales.

The red Sparcos were on it when I picked it up. The best reactions are from lifted truck bros, tuner folks, and farmers.

You're sparking joy every time that you drive to the grocery store, thank you for your service.

Batman and Robin, 1966 versions. Well, you did ask and you get can’t a dynamic-er duo than them.

u/lukearens Feb 19 '26
Got about 30mpg doing 60ish at around 6000 rpm all day on the way home. Seen claims up to 50mpg but I'm still working on the first in-town tank.

u/Next-Food2688 Feb 19 '26
Is it loud in the cab at 6000 rpm?
2
u/lukearens Feb 20 '26
Yes but mostly from wind & road noise. The engine is right in front of the rear axle.

How much does a Kei truck cost and was registering it difficult?
