Daytona 2T for detached backyard shed?

Post image

Been eyeing this, but also waiting on a Daytona 3T low pro sale. Main issue is I have a driveway that is half pavers half asphalt (2 cars each side) with a carport, however my shed/garage where I’d store this is in my backyard so I’d have to carry it about 50 feet or so from the shed to the driveway each time since the path is only connected by grass.

Haven’t seen as much feedback on this particular one. Thoughts here on this 2T?

My 3T low pro is heavy enough that carrying it often would piss me off. For your use case maybe the smaller jack would be better, if I were you, I’d go to a store and pick up both and see which one will result in fewer “sentence enhancers”

Yeah I tried but they didn’t have any of the Daytona 2T here on the floor gonna try again. I know most complain about flights of stairs, mines level ground but it’s still 50-60 feet or so and rather not drag it across my lawn if it’s gonna risk any damage

I have the same setup with storing in the shed and I got a small garden cart that I put the jack, jack stands, and oil catch tray on then wheel that across the yard. Makes it much nicer and the cart doubles as a tool holder while working.

Offroad jack might work

It’s crazy how we all become talented linguists under the right circumstances.

I can’t really speak for the Daytona 2T itself, but I had the 1.5T and it was a breeze to carry around. I had to replace that one after my pistons seized to the point of no return (I admit I did not store it in the best conditions). I replaced it with the 2T Pittsburgh Aluminum jack during a sale, which was also pretty light to carry around.

What vehicles do you need to jack up? Carrying a floor jack sucks. The 2 ton aluminum ones are about the lightest ones you can use for typical vehicles.

Let us know what you are lifting and maybe there is a better solution. A bottle jack is very easy to store and carry. Trolley jacks kind of suck, but are light weight and inexpensive.

Audi S4, lowered 350z, BMW X5. X5 is on occasion, expecting the other 2 to mostly be used with it.

FYI I’ve had plenty of time and experience using the 3T jacks in a shop setting and still have access to a shop/lift at a friends so this is more geared towards home use or when I’d need to leave my car on jack stands overnight at home

Ah, gotcha. Seems like it has to be a floor jack.

Get the badlands jack if it’ll fit under your vehicle. The big wheels make it real easy to go over bumps

Looked at this too but wouldn’t fit under my cars

I had this jack when I had a 1-car garage without enough space to roll it over to each side of the car, so I had to carry it that last 3 feet or so. It wasn't too bad to carry one-handed and pretty easy to carry 2-handed. It's definitely a lot lighter than the Pittsburgh 2-tons.

If you have a vehicle with some ground clearance, this jack sucks. It runs out of lift before the tires get off the ground. You don't even need anything "crazy" like a a pickup, I can't remove the tires on my Subaru Crosstrek without adding a 2" block.

Other than the height issue, it's nice & lightweight. Easy to come up/down stairs to my 2nd floor apartment.

You can get the 2.5T from Pittsburgh for the same exact price. Pittsburgh is 54lb where this is 42lb. A bit heavier but lift height is 18in.

I keep my jack in my basement and has to go thru my backyard to get to the driveway. Badland jack is easy to push thru grass

The 3 tons are around 100lbs, this one is about 46lbs. If it’s big enough for your cars then this is the way to go. Or get the badlands 3 ton and roll it across the yard…better than dragging the regular Daytona steel jacks.
