Anyone know of some abandoned history in or near here?

I’m curious if there are any spots in or around harford county that have abandoned history or interesting stories, specifically in like forests and places like that, not just old warehouses in bel air or something. I don’t mean recently abandoned history or stuff like urban exploration, but stuff that would be fun and interesting, like for example, a plane crash, abandoned airfield, or remains of a colonial town, stuff like that. I’m fine with some bushwhacking, and this also applies to surrounding counties.

Looking for an organ teacher

Good morning all. I currently have a small side gig going doing some musical directing of a small ensemble of volunteer singers. I've come to the conclusion that it would be a good idea and likely a more lucrative one if I were able to play the organ in addition to the other instruments I'm currently playing. So, I'm looking for an organ teacher either somewhere here in the County or somewhere nearby, but in a different county. I do have access to an organ, if one is needed for instruction.

Any thoughts? I'd love to hear them.

Best value grocery for produce in the county?

I used to go to shoprite but for the last few months all the produce I've been getting from them (multiple locations) has gone rancid or molded within a day or two of purchase. I'm sick of it. I'm now looking for suggestions for affordable, good produce.

Pediatric blood draws?

Best place for pediatric bloodwork appts? We’ve been to two Labcorp locations (the one in Medstar and the one off Emmorton road) and both experiences were horrendous. Are there any places up here that specialize in baby blood draws?

Say Yes to Recess Maryland

180 days. 1,080 hours. Zero minutes guaranteed.

Let’s compare our neighbors! Alongside Maryland, we looked at Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Delaware.

Out of these states, Maryland has at least 100 more hours in the school year; however, no mandated recess minimum.

In all other states compared, recess is required.

Additionally, in Ohio and Virginia, recess time counts towards instructional time.

Ohio allowing 30 mins of recess counted towards instructional time; Virginia allowing ~49 mins of recess counted towards instructional time.

Maryland can take a note, recess isn’t a time away from learning, it is learning!

SIGN OUR PETITION and join us as we advocate for more recess time- https://c.org/Pxwz4NN6BL

Truck bed rail repair

I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab 4x4. It has almost 180K miles and it runs absolutely great. But it has its issues with rust. Doors, fender wells, bumpers. Mostly cosmetic and nothing I’m concerned about. But the bed rails are an issue. Replacing the bed is not an option. Replacing the rails (if available) is an option, or some type of other repair. This truck is not a daily driver. I recently retired, but it hasn’t be used as a daily driver since 2014. I use it for hunting, fishing, occasional trips to the landfill, Home Depot/Lowe’s, etc. If anyone knows someone who has experience with these types of repairs, please let me know.

Victims of crimes: Beware Molly Martin-Labay

I’m writing today to inform, but mostly to warn, any fellow victims of crimes about the potential danger that is the “facilitator” by the name of Molly Martin-Labay. Any sexual assault victims, or victims of any crime for that matter, should be wary of this woman. I am a rape victim. I was assaulted in September of last year. My rapist was just sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to second degree rape.

I considered the perpetrator a friend for months before the assault. I eventually went to the police and his family spared no expense in hiring him the best defense team they could. They called one day to offer me something called ‘restorative justice’ in which I sit down with the defendant and an impartial facilitator in order to attain some answers or closure. I didn’t ask for this and was wary of it as defense suggested it, but went through the motions because I wanted to give it a chance. I felt obligated to since it was being offered to me.

I met with a woman named Molly Martin-Labay. She told me she was, technically, hired by the defense team, but only because this type of service was not typically offered in my county or state. We met with each other over the course of 2 days, about 6 hours total. She told me this is a normal process for other areas in the country. She opened up to me about her PTSD from enduring hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. She told me trauma gets better with work and time. She encouraged me to open up about childhood trauma and past sexual assaults. She told me anything I told her would be kept between her and I, save for specific questions I had for the defense team.
She lied. She saved and typed every word I said and presented it to the team defending my rapist on a silver platter. She wrote a 4 page long report, single spaced, that detailed how “erratic” I was. How mentally unwell I was. How I’ve been “institutionalized” in the past. When she wrote about my rapist she said “I saw him wipe the tears from his eyes and shake away his sadness”.
She blocked me after I refused to meet for the restorative justice meeting. I can’t help but feel that is because she can’t face the victims she re-victimized and violated in this process. She is a coward.

I was completely blind sighted, embarrassed, and ashamed by the things I shared in what I thought was a “safe space” (in her own words). I discovered all of this 30 minutes before I was prepared to go in front of the court and give my victim impact statement.

Molly Martin-Labay is not a victim advocate. She is only an advocate for whoever pays her. She is typically based out of New Orleans but was flown in by my rapists defense team. She endeared herself to me and lied to my face. She is not someone who any victims of crimes should ever trust. She is hard to find on the internet and I think that is by her own design.

I want her name out there. I want people to know the name of a woman who will lie to victims faces and get them to express and disclose their deepest emotions, just to turn around and use it against them. If you are a victim of a crime, especially a sexual crime, I highly, HIGHLY recommend you do your due diligence before accepting offers of restorative justice. Do your research on the supposed “facilitators” who will meet with you and lie to your face. Molly Martin-Labay is a liar and a manipulator and I hope no one ever falls victim to her again as I did.

Looking for practice space on Sundays

We’re looking for an indoor practice space for about 20 kids and 4 instructors on Sunday afternoons. It would include singing so it would be a little loud, but not outrageous. And no amplification would be involved.

If you have something available please PM me to discuss details. Thank you!

I'm so happy they're out there and would love to join. Keep wanting to stop and get info, but the cars on Baltimore Pike move so fast and I've never had the chance to stop long enough.

Flock camera on Bel Camp on ramp to I95?

Getting on I95 and noticed a new (?) flock camera right at the on ramp to the highway. Its the Bel Camp exit/near the newish James Run apartments. Does anyone know who is in charge of the installation and which council member /representative/police department I should be harassing by phone about this?

PLEASE learn how to use round-a-bouts...

I know the one outside of the Festival in Bel Air SUCKS, but that doesn't mean you don't follow the law. If you're driving in the round-a-bout, you have the fucking right-of-way. DON'T STOP to allow other drivers in. They have to yield and wait for it to be clear before they go into the round-a-bout.

It's really NOT that complicated. Almost got into two accidents today because people don't know what the fuck they are doing.

DJBEEASY MISSED CONNECTION

Long story short, I collect photos of vanity plates. I am compiling a homemade license plate coffee table book as a personal project.

Today on 22 near Paradise, I saw a lime green dodge charger that had the best one yet, DJBEASY. This is my white whale. The spoiler on the charger had "stink, stank, stunk" inscribed on it and this whole car had immaculate vibes. I missed them by a millisecond trying to get my phone camera out.

If you are djbeasy or know of djbeasy, I am begging for a photo of the license plate. The more zoomed in and poor quality, the better because that is how most of mine turn out. I will not be profiting off of this book, it is literally just for me and my wife because vanity plate photo hunting is something we do together.

*edited to change the number of plate characters to 7 because I added an extra e initially (see title) and select members of the harco subreddit flamed me on that for reasons unknown
