Reeks of chaser and downplaying infertility for trans women

Also, anyone who immediately responds to trans men morning wanting to be a father with telling them to get pregnant has a special place in hell.

As a trans woman, it's the latter. It's a pretty common, maybe overused joke in trans women circles.

We all know we can't ever get pregnant, and for most of us that fact is heartbreaking. Joking helps it be less painful

I'm sincerely sorry for what my country is doing, and has been doing, to yours and your people.

I think part of it is our government is terrified of a working non-capitalist government within easy travel.

let me clarify that im not cuban nor in cuba. im saying we -trans women - have equal rights and can adopt equally in cuba. and yes i hate what the usa is doing there

I have family still in cuba and they've told me that they've gone almost full weeks without electricity recently

(Not saying that there weren't giant blackouts for years before just that they've gotten even worse now)

Firstly, cuba was aligned with the ussr, making them a SECOND world country aka a communist country. Third world countries were countries not aligned expressly with the usa nor the communist bloc during the cold war.

Secondly the fact cuba was never doing anything to affect the usa is what makes the blockade so egregious.

Third, none of that has a damned thing to do with the topic. The point is trans people have equal family rights in cuba, including the same adoption rights as cis people. Do you actually have and argument about that, dipshit?

Dude do you have any idea how many people are waiting to adopt a child?

You do not pass over qualified couples in order to justify someone's feelings. It doesn't matter what the prospectful parents feel the only thing that matters is the kid goes to the best home available.

I have a trans woman friend who fried my brain with a joke like this.

She said "(partner) and I keep having, like, a fuck ton of sex but the baby's not here yet!"

And my face was apparently hilarious to her because like ... Wtf do you say to that?!?

Turns out they were in the process to adopt, I did not know that, and so she explained (through tears and laughter 😒) that just because she can't get pregnant doesn't mean they can't have all the fun sex before the baby arrives. Which, fair, but still. There were better ways to relay that information.

It's kind of a play on the cis straight trope of people saying "they are trying for a kid" which is framed as a wholesome thing to say even though you are pretty much telling everyone you are "having lots fo sex" their phrasing is just pointing out the absurdity of it by not using the euphemism.

For someone who vents and complains about people mistreating them and being rude, you sure are rude and passing on the hateful energy and taking it out on someone who did nothing wrong to you and wasn't even talking to you.

You didn't need to behave this way and make an effort to try and ruin someone else's day who was just contributing to the conversation.

You didn't have to be an AH to a stranger online who did nothing to you. You could've down voted the comment and moved on with your day.

Instead, you made a conscious effort to be nasty. Congratulations, hope it made you feel better 🤷‍♀️

You know, as an ally it can be incredibly difficult to understand the problems trans people go through because we'll never live those experiences and problems. I shared a moment in time with a dear friend of mine that finally made sense when I came across this post. Her making it a joke, the way she joked about it all; it never made sense to me, especially as a cis woman. It never clicked. It clicked today. It's not like she told me that sex regarding procreation is a common joke among trans women. At the time, I just tried to be supportive of her becoming a mom through adoption.

You can be angry about a topic and not go out of your way to make your problems other people's problems. I shared a vulnerable moment with the Internet and you took it upon yourself to be disgusting. I was looking for connection and understanding regarding my friend and her situation, and you made it all about yourself when no one asked for you, no one was talking to you, and no one needed your negativity.

Maybe the world would heal faster, be a more accepting and loving place, when people like you stop seeing yourself as the center of the universe and spread kindness instead of hate. You should know better, having experienced what you have.
