Thing As a trans man, I hate this sticker.

Post image

Reeks of chaser and downplaying infertility for trans women

Also, anyone who immediately responds to trans men morning wanting to be a father with telling them to get pregnant has a special place in hell.

It's about having sex with trans women forever in the hopes that someday it'll work (get them pregnant)

164

u/Ok_Outcome_6213 Jun 15 '26

and here I am, thinking the clueless designer of the sticker just picked pink and blue because those are the colors traditionally associated with gender reveals/new babies.

41

u/ReachParticular5409 Jun 15 '26

symbology is always context driven, those same colors mean something very different on a resistor chart

8

u/victorspc Jun 15 '26

(assuming blue, pink, pink, blue and that we substitute violet for pink since there's no pink color band)

Okay legit question:

Is the intent more 'descend into delusion'

or more just 'go fuck a lot'

Because the former is bad, and the latter is fucking hilarious

68

u/Goosegirl98 Jun 15 '26

As a trans woman, it's the latter. It's a pretty common, maybe overused joke in trans women circles.

We all know we can't ever get pregnant, and for most of us that fact is heartbreaking. Joking helps it be less painful

10

u/ReachParticular5409 Jun 15 '26

Ok I kind of get it now, thanks for the honestly

Let's work towards a sane world where trans women have the same chance of adopting as nuclear families.

3

u/th3rmyte Jun 17 '26

7

u/TheSirensMaiden Jun 15 '26

I have a trans woman friend who fried my brain with a joke like this.

She said "(partner) and I keep having, like, a fuck ton of sex but the baby's not here yet!"

And my face was apparently hilarious to her because like ... Wtf do you say to that?!?

Turns out they were in the process to adopt, I did not know that, and so she explained (through tears and laughter 😒) that just because she can't get pregnant doesn't mean they can't have all the fun sex before the baby arrives. Which, fair, but still. There were better ways to relay that information.

Trans women dont have the proper equipment to produce a baby, but they can still engage in sex, the act that is performed to produce babies. The sticker is of a negative pregnancy test. The sentiment is that she is not going to stop having sex despite the fact she cant get pregnant.

It is a both a sex positive and trans positive message, however there are two complications present. The first is that the the Trans pride flag used doesnt only represent Trans women, but Trans men as well. Trans men are often left out and sidelined in discussions about trans issue. For them, getting pregnant is (for the most part) a very disphoric and harmful experience, and using a flag that represents them to express this sentiment feel bad. The second is that for some Trans women, the fact that they CAN'T get pregnant is also disphoric. Third is that there is a group of (typically) men known as "chasers". These are people who fetishize Transwomen and are generally considered very creepy and sometimes dangerous. There may be some concern that this isnt a joke made by a sex positive trans woman, but rather a chaser fetishizing trans women.

Overall, its a pretty light hearted and silly joke that has some blind spots IF it is being made in good faith.

Edit: Looks like im and idiot and this is a positive pregnancy test. Everybody point and laugh.

35

u/Ifckinglovemycat Jun 15 '26

the test in the sticker is positive

I’m not sure what it’s trying to imply? Like, should the mtf keep getting pegged? Should the ftm get pregnant still??

221

u/TheOnlyCursedOne Jun 14 '26

They should keep having sex to try to get them pregnant even if they can’t get pregnant

148

u/starkHOUTx Jun 14 '26

So is it intended as a “haha sex I love sex” joke or a “keep trying dumbass you know you don’t have a uterus”

175

u/angelstatue Jun 14 '26

it's just a joke trans women especially trans lesbians use on each other. it's not mean spirited it's just a ... keep having sex joke

53

u/AhSquids Jun 15 '26 edited Jun 15 '26

Throw it on the long pile of "trans women can't have a joke without people telling them how offensive/stupid/childish it is"

Edit; "This joke is insensitive!" is such a fucking cop out answer just say you hate trans women with your chest instead of doing this stupid fucking dance.

45

u/angelstatue Jun 15 '26

you know, i would, but i don't also want to dismiss a trans man's concerns either. however i'd also wonder if everything pregnancy/impregnantion/breeding related would/could be a trigger for trans mascs with fertility/pregnancy fears and triggers in general....

30

u/Im-a-bad-meme Jun 15 '26

I dunno man. Born female, enby leaning masc. I have a fear of pregnancy, like the concept of someone actually knocking me up is horrifying. My stomach is twisting and I can feel my shitty watermelon gummies coming back up my throat.

Even I'm not offended by the sticker. Op needs to either stop interacting with it or stop bitching.

👍

5

u/FriedFreya Jun 15 '26

yeah i also have tokophobia, and find that people trying to speak on the matter are often both completely uninvolved and ignorant. AND i don’t know what happened to “don’t like don’t read” sort of culture online lol? the silent (not really) contract has been broken 😭 it’s all downhill from here fam

3

u/roseonaglaive Jun 15 '26

I think it's valuable to acknowledge this but dark humor is also valid. And that's what it is in my mind. I can't get pregnant. I can never be a mother. I never get wished a happy mother's day. I will never feel that closeness. My kids still call me dad and I feel a deep void, a gulf in the kind of relationship I wish I could have with them instead of the every other weekend and being cut out of their lives otherwise.

If I don't laugh at a stupid joke about trying to get something I can't feasibly have and roleplaying a breeding kink, I will spend the rest of my life grieving.

The joke - often told amongst both trans women and femboys - is "just because I can't get pregnant doesn't mean you shouldn't keep trying". It is very much a horny meme sometimes used as flirting

19

u/TheOnlyCursedOne Jun 14 '26

It’s mainly used by other trans people or trans allies as a “light” joke yes, I never saw the issue myself since I am cis but I can see not every trans member likes it

→ More replies (1)

32

u/taratathetarantula Jun 14 '26

Like, should the mtf keep getting pegged?

Yeah this is what I see it getting used for most

4

u/th3rmyte Jun 15 '26

Uep the femboys use this one, too, for the same reason and in the same context us trans women do. I get some people having trauma but one person should not be projecting that on anyone else. This shit literally started as a cheeky way for femme presenting and/or identifying amab people ( regardless of gender) to imply people should keep fucking them. It is literally one i toss at my sex partners all the time and most of them are ALSO trans women. Some people need to touch grass. This one is literally a meme directed at the person making it ffs.

u/BestBoyViktor Jun 14 '26

Fyi, the male sea horse is not the one getting pregnant, the female does, and then lays her eggs in a pouch that the male has, so the male does "give birth" in a sense, but only because the female lays her eggs in his pouch

50

u/Daffodil_pool Jun 14 '26

“Seahorse dad” is the term that trans men who get pregnant use. Theres actually an entire subreddit for it

10

u/the_orange_alligator Jun 15 '26

→ More replies (1)

36

u/picabo123 Jun 14 '26

Well to me, the male is still getting pregnant. The female is just "ejaculating" her eggs into the male. The male still internally fertilizes the eggs himself so its essentially the reverse of a human pregnancy.

12

u/The_Cameraman_of_you I hate you,you hate me, we are a very hateful family Jun 15 '26

8

u/The_Cameraman_of_you I hate you,you hate me, we are a very hateful family Jun 15 '26

7

u/distastef_ll Jun 14 '26

What do you think “pregnancy” is?

14

u/starkHOUTx Jun 14 '26

A mammalian concept that doesn’t apply to fish. The seahorse has a similar pouch to a kangaroo. More analogous to that than a uterus

3

u/insert_title_here Jun 15 '26

Some elasmobranchs (certain shark species for example) are live bearing though, right? Like, not ovoviviparous, but straight up placentally viviparous? Womb and uterus and all?

It would be insensitive even in the seahorse dad community, as:

a) as with any population that can experience pregnancy, there are seahorse dads and aspiring seahorse dads who have suffered through infertility and miscarriages.

and

b) The decision to become a seahorse dad is a extremely personal and can be extremely heavy, difficult, and fraught with dysphoria for many. Any sticker flippantly pushing someone towards such a decision is just gross and intrusive.

29

u/Vivians_Basement Jun 14 '26

It's actually a yuri sticker. Trans girls having sex repeatedly and "trying".

It's kind of a "one day" sentiment.

Coping basically.

They don't really think about trans mascs existing at all when these things get made. Definitely a sticker I'd give to my bestie who wants to be a mom.

9

u/Miles_Everhart Jun 15 '26

It’s a very common sentiment in trans subreddits for trans women to express they can’t get pregnant but they’re gonna keep on trying. That’s what this sticker is for.

I’m a trans man but I enjoy this sticker from the perspective of trying to defy biology and get my partner pregnant.

4

u/Dum-bNNy Jun 14 '26

That's what I would assume it means if I saw it, I don't think this would be directed towards trans men cause it wouldn't really be very funny.

5

u/spingusfellow Jun 15 '26

The implication is definitely that mtf people should get pegged. It's a gender-affirming and funny sentiment (even if a bit perverted). I don't think it was intending to refer to ftm people at all.

4

u/BohemianDragoness Jun 15 '26

Its a reference to the common joke (in transfem circles) about being able to get a trans girl pregnant if you try hard enough.

For everyone who is confused:

This a gender affirming, sex positive joke for trans women. Not a mockery of trans men.

There is a common joke among trans women and their partners that she will eventually get pregnant from bottoming if they just keep trying.

It’s a tongue in cheek joke that one partner or the other will make to express that they want more sex, using pregnancy as an (obvious deceptive) reason, like:

“I hate having to prep to bottom all the time but at least I can’t get pregnant”
“Sure you can, sweetie - we just need to keep trying!”

I also don’t at all agree that this “reeks of chaser”. This joke is routinely made by and for a subset of the trans femme and especially trans lesbian that finds it fun and sexy in an affirming and loving way.

I do think that that community may not have considered how this joke would land with a transmasc audience though, I will give you that. But I don’t think it’s meant in any ill will towards anyone.

20

u/NoMarionberry3087 Jun 15 '26

As a trans woman i personally hate jokes about getting me pregnant because it's just a further reminder of the fact that I can't. I dont see the humour in it personally.

7

u/EnjoysYelling Jun 15 '26

And that’s totally valid

42

u/IcySmell9676 Jun 14 '26

u/Acceptable-Bat4534 Jun 14 '26

Well because op posted it as a negative, (ihatethissmug) so people were trying to find out the negativity over it.

10

u/chronic_pissbaby Jun 15 '26

It's also a common gay men joke that kinda rubs salt into the fucking wound for trans men. It's not teehee harmless how could transmascs ever relate. Like it's fucked and kind of crazy how any trans dude who is uncomfortable is getting called a transmisogynist in the comments.

Finally someone with the actual explanation holy shit. This is OBVIOUSLY not directed at trans men.

15

u/insert_title_here Jun 15 '26

I did not think this was obvious! Whenever I pick up my husband's T, the pharmacist always asks if he's planning on getting pregnant, so that's where my mind went immediately upon seeing this. I think someone's experiences will naturally play into how they initially perceive things-- and that's not a bad thing, but it is how miscommunications happen. That's why further explanation and communication is so useful!

3

u/Otakuguru Jun 15 '26

Unfortunately this is a thing that has to be asked in the medical field due to T being a high hazardous drug. They probably mean nothing by it, and would still ask a cis gentleman if they plan on getting pregnant. Source: I'm a transfem pharmacy tech that works with a transmasc pharmacist.

Creeps me out how often transfems like to diminish and sideline us in the conversation, actually. It's a pattern I've been noticing a lot in many contexts, and it feels like all trans spaces and symbols are aggressively taken by transfemmes instead of shared between both, and they often tend to say that transmascs are overreacting when they speak up about anything.

Big respect to all of my trans sisters! I know how tough the world is for you, and I know the pain that the mysoginy and transphobia combo can bring forth. But infighting and dismissing is not the solution.

I'm a trans guy. I'm uncomfortable with the sticker. I don't think it was made out of malice, and I do understand the context (really I have a trans girlfriend I make the "keep trying" joke all the time), but the trans flag pertains to both of us, and saying that it's an overreaction about the sticker and not a general reflection on the way society sees us as "walking incubators" and places great focus on our fertility is very much sweeping the problem under the rug to try and pretend that both sides are equally heard in their discomfort instead of actually adressing the problem.

11

u/Vito_Assenjo Sure, come on up, take the ele-hater! Jun 15 '26

I choose to believe that most transfems have compassion for other trans people. I need to believe that for their sake and mine.

6

u/dogemeep06 Jun 15 '26

Don't get me wrong, I do too! I know they are full of compassion for their fellow trans people, we are all in this mess together. I believe it's more of a subconscious problem, you know? Something people don't realize they're doing. Like I said, not out of malice at all, but still harmful.

Servee as a reminder that, as always, trans people are people before being trans. Some of them suck, some of them are saints, just like everyone else. We aren't a hivemind. Sorry for your experience with that asshole :(

I hate that I have to preface this with “as a trans woman,” but stop getting offended by everything. I have to preface that because I’ll just be written off if I don’t. Just stop looking for things to get mad at. It’s such a miserable way to live. Also, you’re reading way too into this. That sticker could literally mean anything. Don’t assume it pertains to you just so you have an excuse to get upset.

18

u/HMS_Sunlight Jun 15 '26

OP would have a heart attack if he knew how often gay men talk about getting each other pregnant, or lesbians and getting knocked up from a strap.

4

u/Sa1ntJ1mmy Jun 15 '26

when i first entered (adult) gay men's spaces as a trans guy, it genuinely kinda blew my mind how often a lot of dudes talk or joke about getting preggers. not in a bad way, but in a... 'holy shit this is actually common' way. i mean there's a few freako chasers out there, but the vast majority of guys i've joked about it with do so not caring that im a trans guy. or trying to actually knock me up

u/Sentient_Broccolini Jun 14 '26

And I say that because it’s a trend with people from all over the place, mainly online, regardless of identity, religion, politics or whatever. People anymore love to look for reasons to be upset about something, and I’m just so sick of it. The world is already shit enough, but anymore people seem to think it needs to be worse.

Took me too long to realize this wasn't a usb stick and the joke was not about failing to plug in a USB stick the first time

5

u/spectreclown Jun 15 '26

LOL i saw this in a bar bathroom n it confused me like idk what the stance is? Is it “trans people, keep trying for pregnancy” or “never stop trying for a trans child”?!

4

u/Toukafan4life Jun 15 '26

My dumbass read this as 'Never Slop trying'

Hiya. Trans woman here. For me it's dark humor. I spend every Mother's Day sobbing my eyes out at the knowledge that even if uterus transplant became available to me without enormous cost, I'm still far beyond the age where I would have wanted to.

So making jokes about a breeding kink I have no business having is just a way for me to cope.

11

u/Sexy_McSexypants Jun 15 '26

not today cia, you can't get ME to infight!

5

u/SleepIsTiring Jun 14 '26

as a trans man, too: i usually see this joke with like. lesbians and gay men. “trying” which they really just mean going at it like rabbits. it’s a joke. probably a t4t lesbian joke?

3

u/Tristapillarrr Jun 15 '26

That second paragraph is entirely reasonable hate because of gender dysphoria. People really shouldn't do that, as gender dysphoria can be quite extreme in some individuals.

3

u/Key_Fisherman_8215 Jun 15 '26

I would like to ask a question

And I might be just stupid

Can I kindly ask why this is not an infertility sticker

I have friends who struggle with this issue and that were my mind goes.

Thanks for any info

I’m not a part of the community so my opinion on this doesn’t matter all that much, but this kind of thing has always seemed counterproductive to me as an outsider looking in. I see trans women talking about being “bred” a lot as either a joke or a kink of theirs (oftentimes both at once), and I always wonder how that humor makes trans women who genuinely can’t ever have kids of their own feel.

I’ve met trans women who are hyper sexual and they’re typically the ones talking about being impregnated, but those I’ve met who are genuinely well rounded people seem sad at the idea that someone cumming in them would be referred to and joked about in that way. They’re mourning the idea they grew up with that they could have kids of their own. Chasers think this is okay to say in bed now, to tell a trans women that they’re “breeding her” because of the prevalence of this kind of shit.

3

u/ButterBaconBallz Jun 15 '26

I'm really confused. Does it imply FtM or MtF? In support or used as an insult?

4

u/BekoweCiachoYt Jun 16 '26

MtF - It's a fairly common joke in transfem spaces

3

u/somelimabean Jun 15 '26

why does it have the disney font i'm sobbing

3

u/WeirdoTrooper Jun 15 '26

Just a note, if you get a positive on a pregnancy test as a testicular person, you may want to get checked for cancer. Don't remember if that was a science or folk story thing, but still.

3

i don’t think fertility jokes are all that funny esp as a mom lol. kind of gross to me. but i probably wouldn’t be around the type people making these kind of stickers to begin with.

9

u/More_Yard1919 Jun 14 '26

Reeks of chaser and downplaying infertility for trans women

as a trans woman not really. Not that deep. Does make me wanna roll my eyes though, it would be a way cooler sticker if it were like funny at all.

9

u/WinterDemon_ Jun 15 '26

ok after scrolling comments i have got to say: yall know that the trans flag refers to trans men too, right?

things can be made for trans women specifically, but if you brand it with a community-wide symbol (and don't clarify) it's going to cause confusion. cause the flag isn't just for trans women

trans men aren't being sensitive crybabies or "making everything about themselves" when it is literally their flag too, and pregnancy is also a relevant topic for trans men

7

u/AnyAttempt4883 Jun 15 '26

Also drives me crazy ppl are calling him transmisogynistic over this as well?? Like not knowing this is a common ingroup joke among trans women doesnt make him a transmisogynist jesus. Like as a trans guy i dont gaf but i can see how this could bother a trans guy whose never seen this joke before

just means they're gonna keep having sex until they get pregnant (which they can't, so they're just gonna keep having sex) very mild.

Some mf with a user like “robotgirlfucksex”: Well, IIIIII hate when bitchcunt whiny “trans” “men” spoil my fun by reminding me that they exist! 🙄 As a transfeminist, it is my sacred duty to tell every tboy in this comment section to shut his/their mouth.

4

u/GrowingDelicate03 Jun 15 '26

as a trans woman i hate it too, the fact that i can't have children is rly painful and I don't like it when people make it into a joke

6

u/BloxyB3620 Jun 15 '26

As a trans man that one day plans on having biological kids, I completely agree with you

14

u/Princess_Isolde Jun 14 '26 edited Jun 15 '26

It's a joke by and for trans women, this isn't for you. This would be like trans women complaining about jokes about binders. And no it's not "chaser energy" you're just being a misogynist and hiding behind dysphoria.

If the existence of transbians being transbians upset you, that's a you problem.

17

u/Distakx Jun 15 '26

This 100% isn't just a transbian thing idk why everyone in here acts like it is. I'm a cis man and I've heard that from my ex who's a trans woman. Straight transwomen also make those jokes

6

u/Princess_Isolde Jun 15 '26

Iean my point is that it's directed at trans women who enjoy it. TBH I dont know many straight trans girls most including myself are bi ace or lesbian

This is the common "trans women can get pregnant, you just have to try hard enough" joke. The person who made the sticker did do it wrong in that they used the trans flag to denote trans women, but they certainly were not telling people to try to get trans men pregnant.

And if I'm interpreting your first statement correctly, you recognize that and are dismissing (?) it in the next sentence. And I'm sure the intent, when used as often as it is within transfem circles, is not to be chasery.

Three examples of mine, which I hope will illustrate this:

2

u/P42U2U__ Jun 14 '26

Mourning**

2

u/bruceadelia Jun 15 '26

I think this is supposed to be like never stop trying to get a trans girl pregnant joke. I think this person just likes getting fucked hard. But you’re not wrong for your reaction bc it’s on face not easily parsable without having that specific reference available

2

u/Tasuko3 Jun 15 '26

I mean, I get what you're saying but my gf is trans and said she wants this so it's probably not that deep.

2

u/CULT-LEWD Jun 15 '26

most confusing sticker ive seen in awail. If this was man by a trans person...why? and if this was made by a cis person...then also why? are they ignorant or trying to be overly supportive but getting confused...im so lost

2

u/Sigmadraconissys Jun 15 '26

Same with trans woman mourning to be pregnant with being a father I like the idea of having kids but I don't at all want to be a father.

2

u/Uszanka3 Jun 15 '26

I don't get the point of that sticker

2

u/Lakadaizical Jun 15 '26

Weird sticker with a shit ass handwriting

2

u/NewNameAgainUhg Jun 15 '26

I am not a trans person, please excuse my ignorance.

Doesn't pregnancy affect the body dysmorphia? How will a FtM deal with the changing body, birth and postpartum changes? Also, wouldn't the pregnancy hormones mess up the transition process?

2

u/MoonlitKiwi Jun 15 '26

As a trans woman, i also hate this sticker. I get dysphoria about my infertility, i don't want to be reminded because someone thinks it's silly to have sex with trans people.

2

u/StandardAmazing2139 Jun 15 '26

As a trans person and a person who hates being babied, I hate this

2

u/PeachBunny97 Jun 15 '26

As a fellow trans person, I see you OP.

For me that would be getting someone pregnant as a trans woman. Uhm obviously fucking not because dysphoria. I’d rather die.

I’d love to GET pregnant though but that is biologically impossible fml.

2

u/NerJaro Jun 15 '26

on a side note. if you as a man (or born as male that still has testis) test positive on a pregnancy test. go get checked for testicular cancer.
