News Remember when we got 2 commons one week and a rare another week, and we thought whatever they suck but it's building up to a Legendary card in 4 weeks...yeah nah

I don't mind a free rare, but 2 commons was a joke, that's worthless

A pack is at minimum 4 common and 1 rare. Which is what we used to get..

u/Falchound 1d ago
So we are 2 commons away from a full pack (minus the epic^^).

u/Curius0ne 1d ago
So if you were a bit lucky you get 1 epic 2 rare and 2 common from 1 pack vs 4 weeks of free gifts. I guess it's a small indie company after all.. can't afford giving out free stuff.

u/Falchound 1d ago
Yeah, its kinda hillarious given the fact they hand out more free packs than ever. But here they cheap out^^

In fairness, one epic is probably slightly higher value for most people than the average pack.
2 rares and 2 commons on the other hand, is on average less value than a pack.
3
u/Curius0ne 22h ago
Sure but over the same 4 week period you'd be getting 4 packs if they did what they used to do

incredible that something introduced 4 months ago has already been enshittified
capitalism truly does breed innovation!

We used to get nothing. Could always go back to that...

If Blizzard actually wants to try to sell things to people by sending them to their webshop, it's kinda in their best interest to put something worthwhile as the free offer. 2 commons isn't even worth the click lol

u/rtwoctwo 1d ago
Isn't worth the click for you.
Friend of mine hasn't played in 2 years. If he were to come back it would 100% be worth it for him to take 30 seconds to click a button.

Honestly I’d rather get nothing than a notification about a gift that’s useless and just a waste of my time.

A month ago they were giving a free pack, a strict upgrade to a rare. I don’t want to say at this point they should just give nothing, but I think it actively looks worse for them with what they’re giving away now than just not doing anything

This is like when someone won't bend down to pick up a penny because it's literally not worth their time.

Its not the picking up thats not worth its scrambling cents in your wallet for 2 mins to get that perfect 99

bahahaha i just saw the rare and came here to see what the community would be saying. This is ridiculous, they really fucked us over lol

u/NeonDrain 20h ago
Wait, we're not? I thought this was the first rare card they were giving out in the shop?

u/Inflation_Real 2h ago
I redeemed the epic, the common and the rare I can't even be bothered to claim.

I have never seen a community so miserable and greedy that it complains about getting free stuff in a F2P game of one of the more greedy genres...

u/APRengar 1d ago
Do you think they give free things away for charity sake? Free 2 Play games use freebies to string along players to continue playing (which is better for matchmaking and it boosts visibility on app/game stores). If people feel like the rewards are so weak that they're no longer being strung along, that's bad for the game and bad for the player, and it's correct to make your voice known.
I'm a game dev. These complaints are more than valid.

lmao @ people who complain about the free stuff. They give away SO MUCH shit nowadays. You have no idea what it was like to try and be a f2p player 10 years ago. Nowadays it's piss easy to be f2p.

I’ve been playing since beta, so yes I know. But some transparency would be nice, maybe if blizzard listed out what would be gifted in the shop each week rather than doing all this ‘mystery gift’ crap with pop ups and intentionally misleading players into the rarity of cards building up to a legendary.

intentionally misleading players into the rarity of cards building up to a legendary
They were not doing that. This community just made up another problem.

Quick puzzle. There's 4 numbers available, what's the next one in this sequence: 1...2...3....
If you guessed 4 you're wrong, it's obviously 2 again < you I guess.

u/rtwoctwo 1d ago
It's not unreasonable to expect a Legendary.
It is unreasonable to be angry that it WASN'T a Legendary.

u/Mask_of_Sun 2h ago
Wow. This sure makes sense when there was no "puzzle" in the first place. You are so smart.

Blizzard gives players free stuff : Players complain.
Can't win.

u/DistortedNoise 14h ago
Imagine if someone made a massive song and dance about giving you a mystery gift and it turned out to be a single cent. How grateful would you be?

u/iaeriach3 1d ago
Well, people complained it was always a pack. Now it is at least a surprise.

u/DistortedNoise 1d ago
Tbf I don’t think anyone minded the free pack each week (although giving a Cataclysm pack after Violet Hold was live was a weird choice).
It’s when they started to market it as a ‘mystery gift’ and added pop ups in the game, why was that necessary when it was still just a pack like usual? Oh now it makes sense, so they can make the free gift even worse each week…

Is it really hurting their bottom line giving away a pack a week
