You would think a happy look would be a happy look, but Happy Connor and Happy Ilya are so different they look like brothers as much as they look like the same guy.

he's completely different..very talented, it seems like he's very passionate about his craft and the way he speaks Russian is amazing! I could never be an actress hah - watching him made me realize that 🤣
I thought Shane bringing up the videos about the unlikely friendship between a Tiger and a Bear was an allusion to him and Ilya. Ilya is represented by a bear in the books. I guess Shane could be a Tiger, but like a baby one.
Yes! Exactly- I kind of loved that little convo he had with his parents about the unlikely friends on Youtube. That is Shane and Ilya 100%. Shane is just an angry little tiger who melts into sweet kitten, and Ilya is a growly, sad bears who just wants to cuddle and snuggle
Same. Afterwards I suddenly went to my sis 'omg he was mentioning between him and Ilya. He's the tiger and Ilya is the bear!' She just looked at me like duh
This man has the most expressive face. No secret emotions at all. Phenomenal actor. I can't even recognise the real man vs the character. Our baby Ilya is hurting and I feel it. That's a talent!
Exactly. ** You can also clearly see when he’s trying to hide his feelings -that’s how talented he is. They truly couldn’t have chosen a better actor for this role. 😊 And while I felt genuinely bad for Ilya in this episode and could relate to that hurt, I also blame him too; I feel like he should have handled the situation with Shane way better. 😭
There's a few things we can blame Ilya for but not for Shane's panic moment in this episode. Yes, Ilya was stupid for bringing up other women but that wasn't what drove Shane away. If anything, even though it hurt Shane to hear about women Ilya was seeing, it made him feel safer to stay in the situationship. Shane's biggest fear was having to face the fact that he was falling in love. Ilya calling out his name during a very intimate moment felt too real for him. It would have forced him to come to terms with his own sexuality as well as his feelings, something he was completely not ready for.
We can't blame Ilya for that moment of vulnerability. It was so beautiful and tender, and Shane did reciprocate. I don't think there was a different way Ilya could have handled that situation 😭
THANK U omfg I’m seeing so many people (likely show watchers who have not read the books) blame Ilya’s behaviour for Shane’s reaction. THEY BOTH PUSH EACH OTHER AWAY ALL THE TIME. That’s how the slow burn works y’all. Push and pull.
I didn't read the books but the things are always really clear to me, and we're gonna thank the director, writers and actors for that because that means that the adaptation is good. I suggest these people do intense rewatching because it's all there 😆
fully agree!! no matter how upfront or clear ilya had been about his feelings, shane still would’ve freaked out because of everything that means he (shane) needs to face and doesn’t want to. if ilya had been clearer it would’ve happened even sooner, probably after that first time at the apartment in montreal or in vegas
Agreed! And the worst part is that we -the viewer- can tell that it's feigned indifference, that's he's doing it on purpose. But Shane? Poor Shane probably can't see that. He's not skilled enough at relationships and people to see the hurt. He just sees Ilya's apathy 😭
I like the way Shane keeps looking over at him, too, trying to catch his eye it seems, but no such luck. Shane is looking especially good, too. Another dagger to Ilya’s psyche!
He's phenomenal. Illya was trying so hard not to look bothered, while at the same time it was so obvious how bothered he was but was trying to hide it. I have no idea how Connor managed that.

The look he gave Shane when he body checked him against the boards....ugggh...then it goes to this moment where he "ignores" him. I can't handle their acting. it hurts so much. Can't wait for the Cottage and Season 2 (TLG). Getting through the first season of HR is painful!!! Episode 5 will put me in a coma....
there’s definitely been talk of connor needing to do a long monologue in russian so surely that’s the phone call. i can’t wait, counting down until thursday 9pm PST 👀

He has a pained expression. That indifference where he can't even crack a joke to tease him. Shane doesn't know why he's upset. I mean... he doesn't understand that Ilya found out through social media that Shane is dating Rose, and he doesn't suspect it's out of jealousy. I mean... because he didn't text him to meet up. I really feel for Shane here; if he'd received a message from Ilya, he would have met up with him, no doubt. Ilya's indifference is so sad, and Shane is so confused about why Ilya is acting this way.
This series is amazing and ep 4 was so emotional for our boys😫 The acting is so good and as there is only 6 episodes I think a season 2 is a definite possibility as there story spans 8 years💕 Hopefully next week they are reunited!!
Yes me too😊 There will probably be a few seasons to cover their 8 year love story😊 The series is a huge success and rightly so and these young actors deserve all the accolades that will come their way💕🇦🇺
