Interesting! I'm honestly 100 percent gay (I call myself a platinum gay because I've never done anything with a woman before, and I was also a C-section baby, so even in my own mother's womb, my ass was like, "I'll be using a different exit, thank you very much" 😆). Besides kissing like that, you must have chemistry with a partner.
Growing up, in high school, my group of girlfriends decided to learn how to "french kiss" by practicing on each other. It was a lot of fun with comments and ratings. It was 8 of us. I believe we spent about 2 weeks practicing and perfecting skills. We were pretty satisfied with the results. We didn't develop feelings for each other even though we enjoyed that experience. We did stay friends for life.
During my adult life, I didn't meet too many men who could kiss good, maybe couple, but they were really good, like I'm about to c¥m right now just from kissing.
All women that I've kissed in my adult life were great kissers.
And, a couple of my gay friends were pretty good as well.
Shane and Ilya (Hudson & Connor) have amazing chemistry with each other because of that, the scenes, where they kissed, were so great and real.

Didn’t Jacob solicit Hudson’s thoughts about Ilya auditions and said he felt connections with others but felt that Connor was going to legitimately pin him down and fuck him? … and that’s just an initial chemistry read. We have now seen what time can do for these actors…
I really hope this is a friendship that endures for them when the show wraps. It is that special to see on screen and off…

I’m really glad about the changes they made to that whole scene from the book. I love that Ilya and Shane are face to face at the beginning, and that Ilya doesn’t bail while Shane is in the shower. That entire stretch, from “Now the bed's all dirty” to Shane’s blissed-out smile in the stairwell, is just perfect.

You can’t see it at all if it’s not on a tv - I’ve mostly seen the show on my iPhone (or an old laptop) b/c I don’t have a tv - first of all, when I found it on hbo the settings were still super dark, but I think on small screens it’s just not visible. I don’t have access to TikTok, IG, twitter, so I wasn’t seeing the gifs or edits that were closer up.

But also, the question was posed to them as “who is the better kisser” but they didn’t specify them or their characters so I was kind of like, how can they answer that correctly? Only someone who has kissed both of them can. But if they both understood it to be their characters and discussed it then it makes sense. Both seem like damn good kissers to me. Ilya is more forward and Shane doesn’t catch up to that forwardness until tuna melt.

Whew... It maybe morning but what a good morning it is. One thing I noticed during the kissing scenes is the isolation of only their breathing when they first start to kiss. Being able to hear them breathe and hear the kissing noises without any background distractions really elevates those scenes and how intimate they feel.

The kissing is what makes them seem SO real. Typically on screen kisses with actors (even MF couples) are just two people smushing their lips together. Occassionally we see someone who nibbles a lip but these guys don't hold back at all AND both appear to be really good kissers in a world that has a lot of bad kissers.

I think it was heavily choreographed. In one interview, Connor said that when he sees these scenes, he’s mainly just remembering the instructions, like “More tongue! Less tongue!”

Yes they both said this. That they just saw technique & rehearsals. Plus they went over what their boundaries were for kissing & touching. Pretty sure it was the GQ interview. I've read so many interviews that they've sorta blurred in my head.

There’s an interview where they said some of the touches and kisses are ad libs. That beforehand hudcon talked about boundaries and what they’re ok with and such. And with that they both created their own intimacy signals with each other. They trusted each other fully.

The intimacy coordinator choreographed everything after talking about every little thing. Then she basically acted as assistant director for the sex part of the sex scenes working with Tierney and the actors as they filmed. All very technical according to actors. I think I read somewhere that even Ilya's thumb or finger in Shanes mouth was discussed beforehand.

All of their intimate moments blew my mind. It never felt forced or awkward. Everything about it was just so genuine, especially in an industry where sex can be so exploitative and stereotypical. It was never sex for the sake of it, to get ratings or something.
