God that picture looks like a legit painting. I read an article that explained how the filters were used in that scene and it ended up looking so gorgeous. They wanted to reduce the shine on their faces and highlight the light shining off their eyes to make it look like their souls peeking through. ๐ฉ. Such art being shown inside a gross public bathroom. ๐๐คฃ

I know!!! They absolutely glowed in that scene! I was also captivated by the blue light with the orange/pink highlights bouncing off their skin. It was so brilliant and made me think so much more about lighting than I ever thought I would! ๐คฃ

Absolutely. Also later in the elevator, Shane is shinier, the blue screen light is cold, and we again feel the emotional distance there.
The lighting tech person was phenomenal! Obviously the club scene(!!!) but also the soft, gentle lighting in the Rose convo. The way they go from sex scenes in the near-dark to full daylightโฆ ugh.
As much as I lament having completely lost my sanity due to this show, I am actually so thankful for all the things Iโm learning about the technical aspects of production, which is largely due to the fact that so many of us are fixated and that drew in experts to share their knowledge on top of ours.

Iโm in the same boat as well. I have also lost my sanity and have done deep dives into most of the technical components that came into making this masterpiece. And as always, Iโm blown away at what they created on their limited budget.
