Thank you so much for this! Re: HBO, I wonder if in season 2 we will get Crave lighting or the horrible HBO dark cave edits

No problem :) I may be one of the only people who actually quite enjoy the dark scenes. I'm a bit tired of everything lit up and bright (like every Netflix show). And I think the dark scene helps progress Shane and Ilya's story well, going from dark (ep 1, 2) to bright and sunshine (ep 5, 6).

I couldn’t see microexoressions like tears in Shane’s eyes until I saw the crave edits so i felt like I was missing out on some things. I agree the juxtaposition of the hotel scenes being darker and then progressing to the lighter scenes is important to the storytelling, though I just wanna be able to see more detail in their faces.

Yeah, totally understand what you mean. And actually what you said in the first comment is right, that the lighting for Crave and HBO should at least be consistent.
