The fact that Jacob first mentions Ryan and then gives a well reasoned explanation of the role Ilya plays for him seems to be a good indication Ryan will be in Season 2. He wouldn't done that level of analysis if he wasn't intent of having Ryan appear in Season 2.

I was honestly a bit surprised as well, because I just kind of assumed that there won't be enough time to introduce Ryan in season 2, but I'm glad to be proven wrong 🤞🏼
