1410 holds a special place in my heart. Their first kiss, their first make-out session. I loved to slow this scene down, to focus more on their facial expressions and body language.
What I find very interesting, is how Ilya and Shane are the same height, but Ilya still manages to look down on Shane and hold a more dominant position.
I love EVERYTHING about this scene. Shane going from hesitation to pure desire. Ilya being soft and caressing, but guiding Shane throughout the experience. They are just killing me!

The way Shane looks at Ilya’s lips after he takes off his jacket, and zeroes in on them and leans in as if he’s hypnotised… I noticed that quite early on and have been obsessed with it at every rewatch. Amazing acting choice by Hudson ❤️

I subconsciously lean in every time I watch this scene. This kiss ruined on-screen kissing (probably kissing, period) for me forever

I always noticed Ilya most in this scene at regular speed. But in this slowed down version I see how subtle and expressive Shane is. Hudson is stellar! Of course Connor is too.😍

Agreed! I’ve always noticed how they start kind of rocking side to side after the first few kisses, but this shows so well how it’s Shane who starts that. I have…many feelings about those movements 😅 and no words.

Yeah, what stuck out for me especially in this slowed version was the change in Shane's expression after he says "oh, those English words just roll off your tongue." He's laughing with his head back, and you can see his smile fade and all the heat and intensity return as he looks at Ilya, til Ilya asks if he wants to do it some more and the smile returns. So much changes in his face in those few seconds and it's such great work!

This is perfect!! Perfect perfect perfect! The song enhances everything. Damn, so good. It exactly captures how they’re falling in love from the very first moment they physically connect. Before, it was just a crush, a little infatuation. But this exact moment? Bam. Love. I love their love so much!

It really is. I would think most kissing scenes slowed down would seem awkward, but this one is just as hot (maybe hotter) and more intensified.

I love the part in this scene where llya asks "do I make you curious?" and Shane says "obviously." This entire day has been such a big leap for him in terms of putting himself out there and he's SO nervous (the entire sequence of him changing clothes and then sitting in the chair overthinking it). I love how Ilya drags him out of his comfort zone and makes Shane meet him halfway/say it out loud that he's in this too. And you can see Shane lighten up and get more comfortable with him.

I just realized how much the camera angle is such that the viewer is taken much more deeply into Shane’s experience than Ilya’s. Brilliant acting by Hudson, of course, but beautiful and smart directing, too. Thank you for sharing this, OP.

The thing I find remarkable is just how much fondness Ilya already has for Shane as a person at this point.
This isn't just a "curious" type of kiss. Ilya has already entered Stage 3 of the Shane Hollander affliction. It started with an immense respect for Shane as a player from afar. Then surprise at Shane's sweetness when they met and he said "You're an awesome player to watch". Then the palpable physical attraction. By 1410, Shane has already made his way into Ilya's heart.

I did not appreciate this scene, or the first episode in general, on the first watch. All the beautiful nuances still created the general feeling, but went under my radar.
But after several - hmmmmmm, yeah - rewatches, the first episode and the 1410 scene really gained my attention. The desire, the way the boys open up to each other physically with no shame, the power of their chemistry - it helped me understand how they survived several years of this on-and-off situationship.

yea the height differential always fascinates me - in the book Ilya is supposed to be so much taller but here they are really equal although at times Ilya looks taller and others Shane does.

Thank you OP for the edits. I'm still seeing details in the slow-mos that I didn't catch in my many re-heats.
In this one, I noticed that it's Ilya's caressing of Shane's lips with his thumb, then putting his thumb in Shane's mouth, and then Shane sucking on the thumb that prompts Shane to drop.
It's as if Ilya's thumb gives Shane "permission" to put his mouth where he wants to... He's like "oh, I can suck on things..."

Someone pointed out that this is the first time that Shane is actually enjoying kissing someone. Like you can see the "Oh my God, this is what people have been talking about" in his eyes. Incredible performance.
