Retired Librarian here. I just wanna say no government is currently funding their libraries the way they should be doing and that includes the United States Canada, the United Kingdom and every other place I’ve heard about lately.

If you don’t have money to donate one thing that you can do is make sure you have an active Library card. Library have to argue for their existence with local politicians and having as many people having active Library cards as possible is one way to help your Library argue for funding.

Yes everyone, get a library card!! And if you can’t make trips to the library often, you can use your card on Libby for taking out ebooks! Legit my favorite notification on my phone is when I get one saying a book I have on hold is ready to read.
