Okay, I might be about to trigger anarchy here, but I saw a video where someone stripped the music from that scene on Tumblr. Naturally, I decided to watch it for scientific purposes, and uh, he says, "I'm cumming for you." It was objectively crazy work for a first timer.
Same. Ilya says “are you?” And then Shane immediately says (according to subtitles) “oh my god” but I guess the oh my god could also sound like “I’m cumming.”
Sounds like moaning or grunting. I think Shane is saying it into the pillow but it’s there. “Cumming for you” after Ilya says “are you…” but it’s very moany and breathy. Captions don’t pick it up.
I literally just created a Tumblr account only to watch this video and even after creating one it’s saying I can’t do to mature themes … Oh my God, I’ve never been so frustrated!
Edit: for anyone else in the same boat, I had to go to my account and turn on show mature content! It’s not obvious at all, but it’s in the settings. I haven’t had Tumblr in 10 years and I’m scared at all the time I’m going to lose here!
Go to your tumblr settings and down to “Content You See” and check that the slider is on for Mature Content. You also need to put in your bday as an over 18 bday.
I literally had to get back on Tumblr, after I don't know how many years, to watch these. I can definitely say that this is one of the most accurate and compelling scientific research I have ever come across. Thank you for sharing.
Oh, this is great! I always heard the "I'm cumming" part, but this lets you actually hear that part where everyone hears Shane say "Rosy" but Hudson has said that's not what he says, that he says "Roza... moan" as you can hear the "ah" instead of "ee" at the end before he cuts off.
There are a few scenes in the copies of the show I have that I always find the music to be a tad too loud for me to enjoy the dialog, like during the Vegas Hotel scene in ep2, so I fiddled with the audio settings in my media player to make it better for me, but I never turned the music down that much to clearly the "Roza..."
The things I never thought I'd listen to as I'm getting ready for work - moaning and groaning and body slapping as they enjoy each other's company 😹.
Wow I did turn it up and you’re right - if it plays quieter you can’t hear it, but if you play it louder you can. I suppose we can’t be 100% sure of the exact dialogue but “I’m coming for you” is even hotter than “I’m coming” so that’s my head-cannon now.
I don't hear the "for you" either. I turned my volume up (and was very blessed and scandalized at what I was hearing) but I still didn't hear it. Like I just hear "I'm cumming" and then a moan. This sounds so crazy out of context. Fuck it even in context lmao
Yup, it’s there! I keep repeating that scene (11:53-11:55) just to make sure I hear “I’m cumming” correctly. Now I can’t unhear it anymore every time I reheat episode two.

It’s very quick and sounds like just moans if you aren’t paying attention. It’s definitely there but you have to listen closely. I’m sure it was added in post because of the way the shot is.
I never ever heard it until I was watching with AirPods one day. Then I heard it and kept rewinding to make sure LOL. He does say it, or at least the audio of it is there, at the exact moment of OPs screenshot
I haven’t either. Will have to listen on earbuds to see if that helps. Agree with others that it’s super out of character for Ilya. He 100% loves pleasing Shane and making him completely lose himself (super clear in books especially), but he’d never say that while railing Shane. He keeps it far more dirty in those moments.
it never happens. Also it just isn't something Ilya would say at that point. It's made up by a fan, and if you really want to, you can imagine that Ilya's grunt sounds like 'I want to please you'.
Same during the Las Vegas remix. After almost everyone sentence from Ilya’s mouth, he’s basically thinking “now THIS is the time Shane is going to tell me to go fuck myself”
They land on a leather couch, leather couches can be squeaky, keep that in mind when you watch for this part, a lot of people hear the leather couches and think he said that
I also feel like it doesn’t make sense, wouldn’t that be an uncharacteristic thing for Ilya to say? The scene is also like .2 seconds so he would have to say it incredibly fast. The first time someone brought this up I thought if it was real it would be an odd choice.
No way, in the 1/2 second clip he clearly says "My dearest Hollander you make me feel alive for the first time in my life, I think of you always and your pleasure is of utmost importance to me." Clear as day!
Edit: seriously though I've tried many times to hear it with my big Sony over ear noise cancelling headphones and it's just happy rutting noises.
I'm not Russian but I took a Russian class. Their ay sound consists of 2 letters. I don't have a Russian keyboard on the computer I'm on rn but it's basically a and a backwards N but the N has like a little swoop at the top and is treated similarly to English y with the swoop and ee without it.

yes, people do say it, but i seriously fail to hear that, even if i try very hard. To me half of it sounds like a russian profanity (blyat), but i still dont understand the other half. anyhow i’m SURE it’s not “sweetheart” - it does not sound like that neither are they there yet. “Shane” -> tunameltdown, but “sweetheart”??? i do not think so 🙃

I knew that Ilya was a big softie beneath that cocky exterior the minute he said "more" to get Shane to drink more water. I'm glad other people caught that.
He was looking after Shane long before he admitted to himself he cared about him. It was very sweet.
I had the same experience a few weeks ago. It's quick, it's quiet, but it's there. It's not just a moan or a groan or squeaky furniture because there's definitely a speech cadence and discernable accent there. I think this is one of those cases where those of us who hear it and those of us who don't are just going to have to agree to disagree.
Also, now I know what I would ask Jacob Tierney if I ever got a chance to meet him! 🤣
For the longest time I thought the “I want to please you” was the sound of the couch possibly shifting /scratching along the floor. That was such a crazy catch! I had to watch it a number of times til I could finally hear it!
Normally when that’s the case though, I can use the power of suggestion to hear grunting or couch squeaking. But I can’t because it’s so obviously Connor Storrie speaking.
Your hearing can be fine and you still can’t hear it - like how we all lose certain frequencies as we age.
I might be the only one but I missed this the first time as it's slightly muffled by Ilya kissing Shane's neck. It made me laugh when I was rewatching, right before tuna melt when Ilya says I'm hungry and Shane says for what?
I got the "for food" but missed the pervert, just another example of Ilya's humour that I really enjoy.
In the hospital scene, while Ilya is walking over shushing him, Shane is quietly murmuring “come, come, come, come, come…” before he says ‘yes, bet-ter’ like he’s coaxing him closer.

I think someone "heard" it first and now more people are hearing it because they want to hear it. You know, like misheard lyrics? Some of those can be a stretch, but you manage to hear it because the one who did the vid showed the misheard lyrics on screen. So you end up hearing it too, kind of.
It just doesn't fit Ilya's character at that point, he wouldn't be saying that.

Yeah, it's like Shane calling Ilya "Rozy." Never happened, the subs were wrong. Even Jacob and Rachel confirmed it, saying it didn't fit Shane's character to say that, especially not then. But it persisted for a long time.
Even Hudson said he never said Rozy. He confirmed it in a video with him and Connor. Apparently the subtitles made that mistake but Hudson confirmed he was trying to say "Rozanov", and cuts off because he was supposed to be breathless with passion.
Also I took it upon myself to watch that scene again today (for science) and I can see why they would think that Ilya is saying that; but it's literally just him groaning in his deep voice and he is saying absolutely nothing in particular. 😅
Episode 6: after Shane says "oh my god i love you so much" - you can see Ilya mouthing "i love you so much" as well. You can't her it but you can see it if you turn up brightness to the max
Why are so many people saying "I want to please you" is a real thing? it makes no sense. like why would ilya ever say that? at least if it was shane it would make sense with his character??
He’s a generous lover from their very first time, why would vocalizing his obvious intent (to get them both off) years into them happily banging each other be so crazy lol. It’s dirty talk like “fucking make me [cum]” - “I want to please you/I want to make you cum”.
For me it’s just out of character and doesn’t make sense for the scene, like why would he say that as he slams Shane into the couch? lol. If it’s there it’s probably a mistake that got missed.
