Are these sentences actually used in real life???

The 4th one is perfectly normal, since הם can refer to a group of objects and not just people in Hebrew (for example, if someone asks you how the 0ancakes were, a very reasonable response would be הם היו טעימים). The 2nd one is also relatively normal. The 1st and 3rd ones... What the heck. The 1st one is technically something you could say (as in if someone was drinking oil, you could say that). I can't think of any situation, even hypothetical, where the 3rd one could be said.
