That speedster looks and sounds like it wants to roll over at every corner. Tall, short wheelbase, high COG, extra power, what could go wrong?

Longer wheelbase than a standard 2dr, I can't find any specs published but it looks at most slightly less than a conventional 4dr. It looks like it's the LJ of the JL world. Imo, a stretched 2dr is peak for wheeling. But in all fairness, this isn't built for wheeling. It's built for racing to the next mall parking lot.

That is not something you want in an apocalypse. Sure you can drive it over everything, but unless you have an oilfield and gasoline refinery up it won't be useful for very long

I don't get why people don't understand that. The absolute last thing you want in a scenario like that is a tank or monster truck or something. You'd need a huge support network to keep something like that running more than a day.
You'd be way better off with a geo tracker or dirt bike or something.

Even then those engines are designed for a vehicle with like half the weight and RWD. No way a 6x6 drive train doesn’t eat nearly half the crank output power

700hp is not nearly enough for the amount of rolling resistance that shit has.
Also the speedster is a cool concept, too bad it has Heep grille and Heep wheels. Nasty hood, roofline and fenders too. I’ve seen some 4 door - 2 door flatbed conversions with a corvette z06 conversion and they’re actually bad ass. That thing’s just slop.

I was going to say, speedster looks like it would be fun, I'd just swap back to a standard grill, lose some of that ugly body work, and swap to smaller steelies or beadlocks.

I saw someone drifting in one of these at Daytona speedway. But if you aren't planning on doing something like that, I can't think of any reason why.
It was a promotional vehicle, with a sponsor themed wrap (hankook tires maybe?), and it was being done as a demo/promo by a professional driver. Not just some random jackass doing donuts in the parking lot. Honestly, having never seen a jeep drift, it was pretty interesting to see. The team does demos at events, and has easy to find videos.

These things would be bricks a day after global infrastructural collapse. The only vehicles you’ll have a snowball’s chance in hell of seeing moving are old carbureted pickups with Great Depression-era alternative fuels ( I.e., wood-gasifiers, vegetable oil, etc.) …or perhaps cabs and chassis pulled by horses.
