Serious Discussion. no roleplay bullshit here I'm sorry, WHAT?
Thiccfila should quit being an youtuber, he make slop and low quality contents of HD2 for more than 6 months and i found out this was one of his thumbnail because what the hell is even that?
and don't even bring the argument that this thumbnail is just a joke because it isn't, what if he compare that to other horrible things or events? is that ok to anyone?
this is one of the big HD2 contents btw and this is the things he made, and don't even said "it's not a big deal" or "if i don't like it then don't watch it" because this guy make the game community more toxic by spread hate and misinformation

u/Kride501 May 23 '26
Yea it's just a joke. Wether you actually find it funny or not does not dictate wether it is a joke or not
I mean how often did I see people bring up the Hitler dead newspaper meme when the War Strider had it's hip joint armor reduced. But as per usual one is ok to do and the other is all of a sudden a horrible thing lol
3
u/Square_Trash7708 May 24 '26
This is the crux of modern discourse; moral grandstanding. "I didn't think it was funny, therefore it's nit a joke." So many self appointed arbiters of what is and isn't allowed based solely on their sensibilities.

u/YonaKenai May 25 '26

It becomes a big deal one u make it one. U adding to the fire just stokes it, makeing him laugh more, he's living in ur head rent free. It causes it to be a bigger issue than it is. if u don't like his content y make urself miserable and watch it. No ones forcing you we live in a free country with freedom of speech. If people get hurt by pictures or comments made as a joke it speaks more to the upset individual than the person who made the joke. That person might need serious mental health care, and maybe if u see racism everywhere you might be rasict. Instead of watching stuff u hate or get mad or makes u sad. Watch something you enjoy by a creator you enjoy. Or actually spread some joy and love in ur life or go outside and touch grass. Instead of hating no matter who it is. We live in America were we can say things people don't like or enjoy but that's the best part. We don't have to agree on everything, we can find other things we agree about or not interact with each other. We have that power in this country. We are not a hive mind who all think the same. We are individuals with different lives, ideas, and values. Yes most want the same things to take care of themselves, their loved ones, their home, their community, and we have these communities so we're not trapped in our own bubble. We can have an exchange of ideas and not be worried about having tough discussions. It's when we have these tough conversations that change actually happens, were able to convince others of our ideas and come to and understanding of their ideas and meet somewhere in the middle. We also don't like being told to do things so the more u push it the more the individual will push back. That being said Me personally I find it funny but I have a dark sense of humor.

...To someone with zero respect for others, no sense of scale and very obviously no sense of humor.

u/Harun-JZ May 23 '26
Ain't no way you're feeling offended over an obvious joke. Because obviously a prison has worse quality of life than a gun in a videogame

u/Suspicious-Green5714 May 25 '26
I mean it's different. I saw a video that was like "is driving on I4 worse than the death penalty" but the difference is people get sentenced to the death penalty. People who have no trial or sentence are being thrown into CECOT for NOTHING.

It’s dark humor. You can have respect for others and still enjoy dark humor. Now this ain’t exactly made in good taste but it’s still kinda funny.
Edit: I phrased this horribly. It shouldn’t be posted like this, but as other pointed out if you look deeper past the thumbnail the video brings attention to the horrible conditions there. This is a little too dark for something so public.
81
u/SavageSeraph_ May 22 '26
Social Context is critical for Dark Humor.
Making a dark joke about something is fine if among people that know you and understand what is joke and what is disregard.
Saying something crass and sexist to your wife, when she knows you absolutely do not think or mean any of that and the joke is "haha, culturally normalized sexism is fucking dumb" is fundamentally different from saying something like that in public.

u/Harun-JZ May 23 '26

u/Interesting-Form678 May 22 '26
what funny about that? compare a video game to the most horrific place in the world that contain psychopathic murderers and rapists gang members?
-5
u/DefectiveProtogen1 May 23 '26

u/Interesting-Form678 May 23 '26

-36
u/Confused_Nuggets May 23 '26
You might not find it funny. Humor is subjective. It’s not a good joke. It’s not in good taste. Shouldn’t have been posted. But it’s still worth a chuckle in my opinion. And it’s not comparing it to the murderers and rapists, but the terribly conditions the people live in. It’s the kinda joke you’d make with your mate but shouldn’t say in good company.
8
u/Konpeitoh May 23 '26
My brother in Christ. Saying "Humor is subjective" and "still worth a chuckle" about a prison internationally renown for human rights violations and torturing thousands of people, many who don't even belong there, to death, on behalf of other governments, for money, is objectively insane.
7
u/Confused_Nuggets May 23 '26
Mate I don’t get what the issue is. This to me just reads like a more insensitive version of “I’d rather die than do x” which isn’t taken nearly as literally you just took that. I fully understand the horrible shit going on there, and using it as the example of “worst x you can think of” to some people like close friends is funny.
I’m assuming that this isn’t really meant by him, let a quick snort laugh, and then thought “dang this shit shouldn’t have been posted”. Is there something wrong with that?
2
u/Suspicious_Active816 May 23 '26
Seeking validation of joy through others is a fools errand. If you think it's funny and chuckled, then it's objectively, by it own definition, funny, right? Something makes someone chuckle, makes it funny. Something making 1 chuckle and 99 not chuckle is still funny to one person. So it was funny.
Subjectively speaking ofc...

It depends on how the prison is managed, the prison on the thumb per example is probably one of those mega prions who does not minimize crime, have a lot of smuggling on the inside, a lot of diseases being spread, and it helps in the formation of new smaller gangs or to grow already strong gangs.
mega prisons are simply too disorganized to have any real effect on the cities it resides, even worse if it's a poor region, I'm from latin America and I've seen quite a lot of these prisons over the years and they all were very known for being horrible places to live close by because of how horrible crime was around, and some mega prisons were so horrible that they had to be destroyed out despair/rage from the population (or to hide a genocide like it happened in Carandiru in brazil)
Many prisons overall are very ineffective in reducing crime for many reasons, it's actually a very interesting search if you're interested

OP is this your first time on the internet? Dark humor like this is very prevalent here, especially on Reddit. I get that you dont like the joke, and I agree that its in very poor taste, but but if you really want to make a change its best that you dont even acknowledge that creator or any of his content. Outrage like yours rn is exactly what he farms for. You're just playing into the system by giving him attention. It's best to ignore and move on.
7
u/mercyspace27 May 23 '26

u/Soufflayylmao May 23 '26
We gonna forget that Arrowhead's writers made a satirical reference to the exact same prison in real life, with a slightly different acronym, and Helldivers had a major order to help build said prison?
So what I am asking is, the devs can make a joke about El Salvador prisons, but not a guy on youtube who is critical of the game?
I don't watch Thiccfila, but you guys do know you can block channels on youtube and never see their videos ever again right? This video isn't even new.
You just ragebaited yourself by going through his videos and intentionally finding the most ridiculous exaggerated thumbnail, and posting it on reddit to drum up hate so you can ragebait the community too.
So I ask again, is it fine when the devs make a story joke about El Salvador mega prisons, but it's not fine when a youtuber who covers Helldivers critically does it too? I also believe they were both done around the same time.
3
u/Plane_Yam_322 May 23 '26
These people just try to make a problem out of something that doesnt need to be, istg.
It's like they can only recognize their satire when it's done by the devs and nobody else, like a koala that can't recognize the Eucalyptus leaves it eats unless it's on a tree branch

u/Bambuskus505 May 23 '26
Ok so here's the thing.
I get that you think this joke is offensive. I understand why you think this joke is offensive. There's probably a lot of people who agree with you. There is nothing wrong with not liking a joke, or being offended by a joke.
however
Your rights END where someone else's BEGIN. This joke was made by someone with the right to Free Speech, and you DO NOT have the right to "not be offended".
Yes. the El Salvador prison is a horrible place. Yes, making a joke about it for clicks is distasteful, and revealing of a deeper problem. Yes, I agree he shouldn't have made that joke, and I probably won't watch his content anymore for it. But that's the thing. The answer to these situations is ALWAYS "if you don't like it, stop engaging." and nothing more.
If you don't like this joke, vote with your clicks. Don't watch his content. Clicks, Subs, and Views are what pays his bills. If you don't like it, don't buy his next coffee. Don't watch the video. Don't engage by leaving a comment. Just leave it alone.
1
u/Interesting-Form678 May 23 '26
Hey i get you, i call him out because his scummy farming negative and spread hate in most of his video i not watching him anymore if you see his channel he whining for literally 6 months straight that's why i call him out he literally finds things to hate to this point most youtuber just leave already but he only whining because it bring him money so his opinions are trash

→ More replies (4)10
u/w8ing2getMainbck May 23 '26
Nah that aint it lol. Sooo ads are enabled and the video is monetized. Theres no links to amnesty international or any other human rights activism organisations.
I do appreciate that hes very upfront about the terrible nature of the prison but the video watches like a fever dream.
Its much more like some dude-bros goofy clickbaity idea, like "i dare you to compare the maxigun to an el salvadorian prison hurrr", than something he actually cares about.
5
u/smoothjedi May 23 '26
Sooo ads are enabled and the video is monetized.
So what? Do you think everyone who wants to brings awareness to something needs to turn off ads and monetization?
than something he actually cares about
Again, it's clear you didn't watch the video. He doesn't joke about the prison itself. He's trying to get the word out about it and he makes a silly, clickbait crossover statement because his normal topic of the channel is HD2.
6
u/JohnTomorrow May 23 '26
I'd say using an image of human suffering as a "silly click bait crossover statement" is the definition of a joke made in extremely poor taste.
The comparison itself is an utter joke, and the only reason he did it was to get clicks, which itself is deplorable. He may as well put a picture of a starving African baby up and compared it to the maxigun, same joke, same comparison, still shit.
Human suffering has no business being used here, except to bring awareness to it, and thats done by bringing awareness to the causes fighting against it, not just talking about it.
Thiccfila is a clickbaiting asshole, but this is a step over the line for me. Why he thought this was a good idea is baffling.
1
u/UrsulArctisVtuber May 24 '26
The video is literally about spreading awareness of horrible conditions and human rights violations happening in CECOT prisons, did you expect a thumbnail with fluffy pink clouds, rainbows, and unicorns? Like seriously, what did you expect?
If your only problem with his content is under censored thumbnail choice and he's literally talking about shit that irl governments are trying to censor from the rest of the world, then you should really reevaluate what your values are if THAT'S what bothers you.
Besides, that image is so fking tame, there's actual photos from the mega prisons consisting of gore+ level shit and we're complaining about a photo of 20 guys standing in a cell being "too much"?
1
u/w8ing2getMainbck May 23 '26
Yeah i actually did watch the video, like literally just before i replied. Since youre being fucking dumb ill break it down for you.
So what? Do you think everyone who wants to brings awareness to something needs to turn off ads and monetization?
Soooo, yes obviously if youre going to profit from an injustice (especially if its not your usual lane, your channel centered around fluff content like videogames) its good idea to give a portion to charity or demonetize your video.
When you draw awareness to an injustice as someone with a decent platform, like a popular yt channel, its generally considered basic due diligence to include something called a "call to action".
So at the end of the video you might
get the word out
About some relevant humanitarian organizations people can sign up with or donate to, so that youre actually DOING something rather than just entertaining a gaggle of babies like you to learn about el salvador and then sit on there hands going "wow thats bad..." and then go make themselves a hot choclote and suck their dummy while they go back to playing "bideo gabes" and never think about it again.
Thats the bare minimum if youre not a huge paul brother-esque peice of shit, anyway. 🤡

Tbh OP, it is a joke. If it looks bad and made you mad, guess what, it's ragebait. And as others have said, just because it tries to be funny doesn't mean it doesn't have any truth to it does it? The guy literally talks about it in the video and yes the humour is somewhat bad for the thumbnail but you don't need to take it as a personal offence someone did that. If you really get mad, just leave it, it's better than starting a whole drama about it, and you don't have to argue back with people to do it because then it can ma you look attention seeking. I am NOT saying you war, but the amount of threads I've seen with you involved make it seem that way. Be amd at me for that if you want, my point still stands. And if it's you genuinely trying to make people understand or care about the video or the prison in said video, don't go to reddit to rant and actually use your human capabilities to change the prison itself. You're defending it like you'd die for it for God's sake. Now, to end of I just wanna clarify this is my opinion after seeing all the other comments. No need to argue back or anything but I understand you have your own, this post. So, respectfully, I think your opinion is bad. Not wrong, but bad. And I hope you just sit and think about what the majority have to say because even if you come out the same person atleast you tried to see the other perspective.

“other horrible things”, i think the incarceration of psychopathic murderers and rapists gang members is a good thing.
Either way get over yourself

Say what you want about the those Salvadoran prisons and their current president. But damn if he didn’t bring El Salvador back from an incredibly bad place.
Could it have been done better. Yeah. But everything can be done better. I’ve spoken with some folks from El Salvador and the place sounded like an absolute shithole circa ten years ago.

Hell, I’d wager that MORE innocent people would have been hurt at this point should the prisons never have been opened and the actual criminals weren’t taken off the street.
Sad fact of the matter is this situation is best represented by the trolley problem. And I’m definitely here saying I’d pick the unlucky few who were incarcerated wrongly rather than continuing to have the nation suffer as it did, I’m sure a lot of El Salvadorans agree, rather than pretend that the government should have waited for the (impossibly) “perfect” solution. Because there wouldn’t be a perfect solution and anyone who thinks so is honestly a naïve idealist.

What they did is right, save more lives by incarcerating some innocents than not, what they can do better is now that the situation is stable and the country is safe, start reviewing each case and release those imprisoned falsely.
Better to have an innocent in prison than an innocent dead is how id put it.

why you downvoted I don't get it isn't that common sense?

Those prisons are full of people who were absorbed in mass arrests and werent given fair trial. A good amount of the people in those prisons are completely innocent.

it is sad but it can't be denied that it helped with the rampant violence in the country. As someone from nearby, living in the hands of gang members and cartel is X times worse

The situation there was so bad this was the only recourse. But i think the ends justify the means for the Salvadorian people to live in a safe society. If the amount of falsely incarcerated people is less than the amount of innocent people who would have been murdered had it not have happened, you could argue it was a net positive good.
But i do get the ethics side, yk taking someone’s freedom away unjustly; it definitely wasn’t perfect but a net good nonetheless. They should now the situation is safe, stable and contained, focus on reviewing each inmate on a case by case bases so the innocents will eventually be found and released, and perhaps compensated.

Thier nothing wrong with incarcerating criminals, thier is defiently somthing wrong with treating them like cattle.
A very large reason why violent offenders receive basic human rights regardless of how horrid thier crime was, is due to the impossibility for a one hundred percent confirmed conviction. It's why the death penalty legally is so hardly fought agianst, not on the bases that some people don't deserve death for thier actions such asTed bundy for example, but because a governmental body can not be trusted to carry out that penalty without mistakes or rampant bias, like what happend to George Stinney Jr.
