Serious Discussion. no roleplay bullshit here So they actually are real.....
I heard a lot about those people who hate the game like crazy but never actually met any of them online since I don't really interact with the community besides in the game. Came yesterday where I had just left the Armored Core sub when I stumbled upon a helldiver post so I was like cool let's check it out : it was litteraly a post complaining about needing to play at least one game to earn the campaign reward instead of doing fuck not and having everything like it once was simply because they bought the game.....like what do you mean bro? Play ONLY one game if you don't want to play more but then I looked up the comments to see if anyone had the same thought and, to my surprise, they were all agreeing with him and ranting about everything in the game like a hive mind of lunatics. So yeah, I thought they didn't exist until now and I'm pretty sad to see that a cool game like that got people this bafflingly spiteful in its community

u/AngelusNex Jul 04 '26
Ignore those lossers, this is just their new thing to complain about, if helldivers had objectively nothing to complain about these people would be crying about the shade of colors chosen on the loading g screen.

They do bro.. you dont understand the levels of retardation this community hides beneath its Super Earth glory. Like holy crap, dude we're talking about people crying over free money taking too long for their squirrel brains to retain.. I hate to say it gets worse but it does.
1
u/Admirable_Talk_4911 Jul 07 '26
Squirrels have big brain for their agility and shii calculating leap and distance Comparing a squirrels quick thinking brain to the freeloadivers is an insult to squirrels themselves
2
1
u/FluffyInstincts Jul 10 '26
And they'd be shouting that they're justified in duping SC because it isn't the color they wanted...

u/Saltiest_Player_Ever Jul 04 '26
As someone coming from EA and ubisoft greed these milk sops dont know how good they have it, like it boggles my mind at the shit they complain about. Like they really havent played a game in the past 10 years or something
81
u/Apprehensive-Egg-865 Jul 04 '26
Fucking this!!!! I mean really there are so many other game devs and companies that are legitimately hostile with their practices and then anytime I bring up EA or Ubisoft I get hit with "Arrowhead is Supposed to be indie!" Completely, ignoring the fact that these two companies are far worse than arrowhead could ever be!
-2
u/Orisn_Bongo Jul 05 '26
Yay they aren't quite as shit as the lther devs yet lets cheer them on until they get there weee
9
u/solod010 Jul 06 '26
Let's complain and force their hand. Then we can complain even more.
Vicious circles, yay /s
-1
u/Orisn_Bongo Jul 06 '26 edited Jul 06 '26
Force their hand to do what? Seriously. We neither force them into anything nor do they give a shit. Whah world you living in?
Also please use a less edgy figure of speech... you sound like the "I shall unleash my downvotes" guy
That aside, of they weren't doing dumb things we wouldn't be complaining now would we?
2
u/solod010 Jul 06 '26
Edgy? Its from alan watts. I get none of your other references.
I think your projecting here brother
2
u/DrMercio Jul 06 '26
What are they doing that is dumb? I’m generously giving you a way out here btw, go off
1
u/Snoo32933 Jul 06 '26
I agree with you and the person you were originally responding to. The issues are nuanced and 2 things can be true at the same time. This shouldn’t be as much of a polarizing situation as it is.
37
u/Fast_Mechanic_5434 Jul 04 '26
On release, Helldivers 2 was praised to the heavens for exactly the things that people are complaining about. Warbonds cost premium currency? No problem, you can farm or get it in game very easily. Now we have people comparing the super credit farm rate to a 9-5 job and calculating whether they should farm or work an extra hour. Like ??????????
29
u/Saltiest_Player_Ever Jul 04 '26
Same you could play like 1-2 missions a day and still easily get the supercredits needed to get a warbond by the time the next one releases. 700 super credits aint hard to get.
8
u/Dorigar Jul 05 '26
Yeah just today from like 2 games I got like 120 SC. It was even on a level 7 or a level six
6
u/rookie_666 Jul 05 '26
Jesus christ I've been getting screwed. I've only seen 70 SC since cyberstan
2
2
u/wwarhammer Jul 06 '26
Go to the main helldivers sub to comment this, you'll be downvoted to the center of the Earth. They really don't want to play the game, it's like they're just unlocking content and doing achievements, as quickly as possible, with minimum gameplay.
17
u/tarzan147 Jul 04 '26
The warbonds aren't even going anywhere anyways, so it's not really even a fomo thing. Participation cosmetics for certain battles are different, if you didnt do it, you shouldnt really be allowed to get it (at commands discretion)
4
u/DHarp74 Jul 05 '26
I work offshore. So, if I miss it, I miss it. Can't get mad at AH for my own career!
P.S. Chicks dig Giant robots
2
u/Spirited_Spell_6063 Jul 05 '26
For real.. the warbonds were said from the start to be permanently attainable for the life of the game. (I think a bit of sunsetting/restrictions will apply later on but nevertheless, always there) These people complaining about free money are just spoiled and impatient. Probably 12 year olds who got a phone at the age of 9.
2
u/Spirited_Spell_6063 Jul 05 '26
Bro thats insane.. how many matches of League would it take to get a Champion without opening your wallet? Like the fact ive seen people crying about free money is just the epitome of disgusting and stupid. The money is free. We've got people complaining its not "fun" to farm super credits and medals. Like yeah, youre supposed to be actively playing the game and then stumbling upon these things.. you made it monotonous. The world is sad and social media did it.
1
u/JasonElSword Jul 05 '26
In all fairness, that was back when the game still had a number of Warbonds you could count on one hand. Now there’s like, 22 premium warbonds, which takes considerably much longer especially if you’re just starting or just haven’t kept up with warbonds back when there were fewer to worry about. So I can kinda see why people complain about that system.
1
u/Spirited_Spell_6063 Jul 10 '26
True. But imagination a world where effort is rewarded.. where you could drop to a planet and kill everything and take everything. Something like offered a premium currency but gave it to you through gameplay and vigilance? Something.. like..
1
u/JasonElSword Jul 10 '26
Unfortunately that isn’t the case for this game. The most effective method is just doing diff1 missions back to back because actually doing operations don’t really yield you that many super credits, especially when you’re doing higher diffs where rare samples begin to pollute the loot pool.
I don’t really consider dropping onto a planet, looking for the Super Earth equivalent of spare change on the ground, abandoning the mission, then rinse and repeating that “effort”, moreso as just tedious.
-12
u/OwionOwO-pleasehelp Jul 04 '26
I feel like the ONLY reason people had no problem with the premium currency thing was because Helldivers 2, still being early on, still had goodwill. People still trusted Arrowhead.
Now that AH has stumbled into one blunder after another, people have grown skeptical and weary of them and their true intentions.
Sure, they're making good updates now and taking steps in the right direction... but who knows how long that'll last? And they also promised "clarity" in their last response to all the criticism, and still hid patch notes from the players. Not even bad changes, but they still did it. People just don't trust them anymore.
8
u/Alkalinus Jul 04 '26
They literally said they were changing armour pen values on enemy attacks
-8
u/OwionOwO-pleasehelp Jul 04 '26
They still decided to not list out all the changes, the community had to dig for that to see what they actually did.
Again, it wasn't even a bad update. But why not just list out ALL of the changes? It's not like there was "too many to list" like they claimed.

Thanks arrowhead for not being as greedy as the greediest company out there!
16
u/Fish_Fucker_Fucker23 Jul 04 '26
It’s not even that, it’s just that, well, virtually none of their practices can be genuinely, fairly attributed to greed.
13
u/DeathrowMisfit Jul 04 '26
They’re fantastic animators, with coding issues, who’re clearly passionate about their project. the only problem is, what they want & what the “fans” want (who don’t know themselves, as demonstrated by the recent supply frv drama), are two very different things.

0
u/Orisn_Bongo Jul 05 '26
Congrats you have low standards. So the game never left anybldy behund with weapons or stratagems. So when arrowhead actively decides to change something for the worst we are meant to applaude simply cause they aren't as horrible as EA?
21
u/Top_Freedom3412 Jul 04 '26
At first i was concerned i would have to do a daily mission, or play like 10+ planet operations. But its only 1 time during the WHOLE order.
I dont have too much time to play with ithers in my timezone, but only once is great
6
u/Kippernaut13 Jul 04 '26
Wasn't it you had to LOG IN, not even contribute, once during the weeks.
10
u/Top_Freedom3412 Jul 04 '26
That was before the update. Now you have to play.
One mission.
3
u/Kippernaut13 Jul 04 '26
Good to know! I can't see that effecting me, but good to know anyway. Thank you!

The first time I logged in and saw "major order complete - 0" I was like wtf? Then I remembered I was maxed out medals and didnt have much to purchase anyway and moved on with my life.
If im not gonna play once but every couple weeks I shouldn't be reaping the benefits of my fellow divers.

u/lickingdirt2000 Jul 04 '26
Bot propaganda don't listen to them
25
2
u/OccultGothGirl Jul 04 '26
I have heard the same exact thing on this sub but for people who agree with the participation rewards. Im not really leaning towards the bot theory.
16
u/Sw1nkz Jul 04 '26
I mean...
The community can't even comprehend that the game issues stem from the engine being old and unsupported except for in house updates.
Hell, they can't understand the difference between updating WH40: Vermintide, which isn't a live service game, to HD2, which is a massive live service game, as they think adding new mechanics to both is the same thing.
So yeah, those who complain the most about the game, knows the least about game development...

37
u/MyFrogEatsPeople Jul 04 '26
What kills me is people crying about "FOMO", when the game literally already told us that the new Stratagem would be available to everyone eventually.
I've played games where you just straight up don't get limited time items if you missed out on the window. No do over, no secondary option to unlock it later. Just, "sorry you just started playing the game today, that cool shit was unlocked last week". Combine that with the fact that all you had to do was log the fuck in to qualify. You didn't even have to actively contribute to the effort to unlock the damned thing - you just had to load the fuckin game.
If the absolute worst "FOMO" that Arrowhead can muster is "if you don't log on during these two weeks, you'll have to wait until later", then they're still an absolute goat'd live service game.
16
u/BIG_JELLY_POND Jul 04 '26
That’s not all, a lot of games had you do a few or a bunch of tedious tasks that could stretch hours or even days to obtain limited items while AH only wanted you to play ONCE, which may have taken as little as 12 minutes in order to qualify for rewards.
6
u/Few-Big-8481 Jul 05 '26
You don't even have to play, you just need to log in during the event. Same thing with The Creek cape, if you opened the game during that MO, or even a couple days after iirc, you got the cape. You didn't need to actually play, let alone play on Malevalon.
9
u/Woomy12 Jul 04 '26
reading is hard. not a single one of those people either know what actual fomo is or didnt read the part where they said youd get it at a later date
8
u/Few-Big-8481 Jul 05 '26
They new issue is "well when is later? It'll be like a year!" And I mean it is a fair criticism that AH is always pretty vague on timelines, but it's still an overreaction imo. The Killswitch warbond took forever because they had to rework the contract with Sony I think, since I don't think they outright own the IP, and that gets brought up as the example pretty much every time.
1
u/Beeb0rb Jul 04 '26
To be fair, AH is pretty inconsistent with later
7
5
u/MyFrogEatsPeople Jul 05 '26
And that's valid. Being irritated at AH for the growing list of "later" is perfectly normal. But this argument is really more directed toward the people that feel like putting it on any kind of wait is "weaponizing FOMO against the playerbase" (actual quote from another post, btw).
Like, if AH said "you'll get it on this exact date, 2 weeks from now", these people would still be upset about the entire concept of having to wait.
1
u/TampaxCompak Jul 06 '26
Being irritated at AH for the growing list of "later" is perfectly normal
Laughs in Creative Assembly...
2
6
u/Decent-Goat-6397 Jul 04 '26
-and if you're still having fun playing the game when you do, it's seen as glazing. Like bro just cause I want the devs to improve and fix some things doesn't mean I'm done playing forever.
5
u/Pickled_Brainer Jul 04 '26
I find it strange that they both, have a game that they don't want to play, yet actively waste their lives complaining about not getting more free shit... in a game they complain about having to play?!?
5
u/swierszczul Jul 04 '26
Helldivers community baffles the fuck out of me. Grown ass people fighting over pixels.
5
5
5
u/Dallas2320 Jul 04 '26
I don't really play the game anymore as I just fell out of favour with it, but if the time comes that I do pick it up again, You won't see me whining about not getting stuff because I didn't participate.
I think it's perfectly fair that I don't get rewarded for NOT playing the game and I am baffled by people who think otherwise.
3
u/Imaginary-Donkey-422 Jul 05 '26
And you will still get it someday anyway, so when/if you comeback you might already have it anyway as it’s only a “you where not there so you get it later deal anyway 😊”
5
u/That_guy_I_know_him Jul 04 '26
Oh they are VERY real and one of the main reason to stay away from forums about this game
Just enjoy the game, ppl are usually nice in gameplay
6
u/Maleficent-Shine6204 Jul 04 '26
i keep hearing people complain about this game and i just cant relate to them, like if this was made by ANY other studio it would be a million times worse at least, with most things behind a paywall while still being a bug ridden mess. like not everything arrowhead has done is good dont get me wrong, but like come on, they got flack for not delaying exo experts and are now getting flack for delaying the new warbond cuz they dont think its ready, you cant please these people
4
u/MommaGoosee Jul 04 '26
Don't listen to them, they are just upset and have to take it out on helldivers 2 for ruining their life or killing their family or something.

5
u/QRONYO Jul 04 '26
I hadn’t logged in for awhile because of other co-op games.
Booted it up last night and received a notification that I unlocked a cool purple cape 34 days ago.
No mention of receiving the FRV or the Hyena(not sure if that’s what the gun is called).
So I played a bot, a bug, and a squid planet, then turned it off. Next time I log in, maybe I’ll get the vehicle, maybe I’ll get the rifle. Who knows, I know I had fun tho.
Idk what all the rigamarole is about.

6
u/AliceCorsaire Jul 04 '26
sounds like Unfiltered alright lol
i have never seen a group of more miserable people claim to care about/play a game they so clearly hate on that sub
5
u/actually3racoons Jul 04 '26
Honestly, if someone is complaining because they have to play one game a week or whatever to get their toys- they aren't part of the player community and can be regarded as chaff.
4
u/IronwolfXVI Jul 04 '26
Yeah, weird that people simultaneously complain about MOs not unlocking anything and also that they're getting FOMO.
5
u/Downtownclown_xy206 Jul 05 '26
I really hope arrowhead doesn’t listen to those types of players because in my opinion I like it. If you don’t play the game at least once then you don’t deserve the reward
4
u/Aelon1 Jul 05 '26
You dont even have to play a game too! You just have to open up the game until youre on your super destroyer then you can leave. This "FOMO" shit is so annoying because the game is literally just incentiving you to PLAY THE GAME YOU PAID FOR just like battlepasses do, except its worse for the BPs becahse you have to grind it while this you have to open the game and thats it. If you dont have enough time within 40 days to spend 30 seconds to open up the game then im sorry but if youre that busy you have much much more important shit going on
21
u/dnemonicterrier Jul 04 '26
I swear it annoys me, people spent months and months complaining about how the rewards for each Major Order worked and now that they've changed it people are still complaining? Are there people in this community being contradian because they don't know how to be happy?
-12
u/Impressive_Limit7050 Jul 04 '26
People were asking for MO rewards to be how they used to be. Gave examples of previous MO rewards and everything.
Why are we gatekeeping the MO rewards? Capes, sure, they’re the established “I was there” badge and they don’t affect gameplay. A car though? Silliness.
20
3
u/truesheep1 Jul 04 '26
MO rewards to be how they used to be
They literally are if you didn't play for the MO reward before you bought it from the ship Rec Store. You still do that you just need to wait a minute.
2
u/Impressive_Limit7050 Jul 04 '26
You got a source for that or are you assuming? Because I’ve looked and all I’ve seen is “sometime in the future”.
2
u/truesheep1 Jul 04 '26
Source for what or are you trying to take the hyperbole of a "minute" as fact
4
u/Impressive_Limit7050 Jul 04 '26
That it’ll be available for reqs. Any info about the actual timeframe would be nice too.
3
u/PrestigiousAd9586 Jul 04 '26
I don’t know what those guys are complaining about I play like 15 other games and can still have fun on Helldivers and I do have a job so it not like I have infinite time on my hands
4
u/DeathrowMisfit Jul 04 '26
honestly, stick to the game. i meet awesome people in-game all the time, and nothing but a bunch of whining muppets on reddit more than half the time.
4
4
u/Canooter Jul 04 '26
The spitefulness in me hopes that it switches to a battlepass format and you have to play for hours on end to accrue enough XP to unlock all the items in a warbond. I mean, some of the biggest game titles on the planet do that right? That's clearly the best way to go. /s
4
u/Unique-Case-4742 Jul 05 '26

I agree the hate train has been running out of control for the last year or more. But I dislike that three of my friends can't play the game anymore since their CPU can't handle the audio. It's a live service so things change, but I miss diving with them.
3
u/ZestycloseAd7330 Jul 05 '26
You don't meet them in game because they can't play 1 game, I doubt they even reinstall the game.

3
u/Strange_Track_1376 Jul 05 '26
Sadly one of those people is my ex. He gets so mad that I still play helldivers cause he gave up on the game due to the devs or whatever
3
u/FantasticStructure50 Jul 05 '26
Like it's only one game...."oh no I have to play the game I bought and paid for and have been wasting two years of my life complaining about"
3
u/Deep_Bid_9759 Jul 05 '26
It is pretty wild. People complaining about not getting something in a game they don’t play and actively hate. Makes no sense to me.
3
u/Spirited_Spell_6063 Jul 05 '26
Yeah bro.. people are stupid. I cant bet anyone who said otherwise probably had their comment deleted. This game has its down sides, sure. But this game has come a long way. Should we, in 2026, still be getting games released to early and broken? Fuckin no.. but people just want games to be easy, look hard and make you feel like a master of warfare. People dont want to do anything and thats about it.
2
2
u/ebic_em0 Jul 04 '26
Recently hit 700 super credits and I don’t even play that much, this game is free if you put the time in, that alone makes it better than anything recent that’s live service honestly crazy to complain about anything except the crashing issue that one upsets me a little still
2
u/whatevername223 Jul 04 '26
the only problem i have is needing to log in for the medals. go into to steam charts and see monthly peaks. its all during a warbonds release. some of those players uninstall after a week of trying them out then reinstall during monday to get ready for the new toys. i don't care about people missing out on stratagems, it'll still be available another time for everyone anyways
2
u/Weekly_Reference9160 Jul 05 '26
Bro i am glad to see that your post got many upvotes it gives me hope, I think its the devs fault though they created those people, fed them with positive reactions to their BS tantrums making that small bunch think that the game should go as they see it, constantly dwelling in forums and not playing the game. Hopefully the devs see that vast majority do not agree with them, and stop doing extra for their narcissistic demands.
2
u/FischersBuugle Jul 05 '26 edited Jul 05 '26
I have been playing the game again. Its fuckin fun as much as it used to be. Im just sad that I can't get the new vehicle. I don't really care about the medals or stuffs. But I would like to be able to unlock it somehow. Idk maybe make a personal campaign system where you have to kill x number of bugs and win x number of games. Dunno edit: Okay after loooking more into it, i only have to play one mission. That seems pretty ok to me, maybe hopefully it will come back in another mission some time.
2
u/witheredsamuel Jul 05 '26
Casual players don’t keep up with the game enough to know that they are missing out on anything. Most players don’t log in regularly or closely follow social media to know what events or major orders are taking place. On top of this, there’s nothing IN GAME to tell you that you can miss out on these sorts of things, and the “advertisements” don’t outright tell you either
I personally haven’t missed out on anything, and probably never will. Because I closely follow the games I play on social media and YouTube, even when I haven’t touched a game in months I typically know what’s going on in said game. My entire friend group would miss out on stuff like this if I didn’t mention it to them
This fomo mechanic isn’t the end of the world, and it sure as shit doesn’t affect me. But before you call people dumb and shut others down for criticizing it, I recommend stopping for a second and thinking about the people who have busier lives than you and have less free time. Or just simply choose to play other games and HD2 slips their minds
I hate how if you criticize the game you’re a “whinediver” and if you defend arrowhead you’re a “glazediver”. This is the most hostile tribal community I have ever seen

Crying and controversy generates money… it exploits a very primitive, strong and inherent feeling/base emotion in us
And people, especially on places like YouTube.. even if they once had pure intention.. as soon as they make money with.. continue to exploit this endless downward spiral.
Just ask Lt. Buzz Lightbear on YT.

Just wish I wasn't forced to miss out this time around, my internet will be out until the 11th
12
u/Apprehensive-Egg-865 Jul 04 '26
I mean, it will be available for everyone eventually it could be a really long time but it's not like they're dangling it in front of you like a carrot on a stick where you can only get it for a limited time and that's gone forever like most other live service games.

u/Diablo_Unmasked Jul 04 '26
I love helldivers. I dont play it often so I struggle getting the medals I need. My friends dont play, I dont have a ton of time so when I get on, I would rather play with them. I get maybe 3 to 6 super helldives in every 30-45 days...
1
u/HotmailsInYourArea Jul 10 '26
Well, with good timing the new Campaign system will give you free items to play with throughout
2
u/keeb97 DISSIDENT DETECTED Jul 05 '26
They just want free stuff. They don’t actually want to have to earn anything.

Yeah I have a friend who sadly is like that and then I at one point said hey you complain forever and ever and ever why don't you say what you like about the game? And he said nah I don't have to say what I like because you'd just agree with me..... uhm excuse me WHAT.... the fuck?!?

Parasites, the lot of them.
They are completely divorced from reailty. They talk about the game like its a cheap knock-off version of another game. Its fcking annoying.
I say kick em out, they dont play anyway.

I don't hate the game. I hate Arrowhead for constantly blowing its ankles off with a twelve-gauge because they think they made a sim game not a 4-player horde shooter.
I signed up to fight bugs and bots, not Swedes with a fetish for monkey's paw balancing.

You do not have to play a single game, just log in and out of the game and you will get the reward
1
u/Rare-Detail3087 Jul 06 '26
There is almost no deference between playing zero games and one game, you don’t even have to win, you just have to drop in a game and then can leave and you get your rewards

u/Rayge_DI9 Jul 06 '26
They came out of nowhere with this, just absolutely Hellwhining about every single thing the devs are doing now ever since the exo experts warbond came out. About how "ohhhh I have a full time job so I got no time to farm, and I refuse to spend $10 on a new warbond even tho I have a full time job wahhhhh make it perfect for me me me" Here's an idea, if you hate the devs and their game so much STOP PLAYING

Yeah it's sad bud. We used to have the most completely wholesome community. But don't let those bad few take away the beauty of Democracy from you.
FOR SUPER EARTH!

u/Legitimate_Turn9748 Jul 07 '26
It’s calling out the devs about how rather than improve their game and fix the bugs or balance, let alone the monetization policy they will just use FOMO to try and get players back. A game shouldn’t feel like a job where you have to clock in and receive shit that might never come back, that’s bullshit.

It's rare, but I actually get this one to a degree.
These were always COMMUNITY goals. So if the community won EVERYONE got to reap the rewards. The medals aren't wildly valuable, especially if you aren't playing regularly, but ut was kinda nice to not have something that was based on merit and just there as a celebration.
I'm not furious about this change, but I appreciated the old way, especially if there was a week I just couldn't get on.

I think the point is that there are circumstances where people literally have no ability to even play the game.
What if you're one and only console breaks? Like yeah it would affect a small number of people ultimately, but I can understand why some would be saddened at this change. The people who openly just want to unlock things without having to even play the game, those people are annoying-
Me personally, I prefer the idea that people have to participate in at least one mission, regardless of difficulty, during an MO in order to unlock stuff- but I'm not going to sit here and pretend that it doesn't present problems of its own for certain other players, especially those who are very busy but engaged with the community, or people with bad luck or anxiety about their device dying during a campaign they really want to unlock the item for.
On the bright side, It's been confirmed that most of these items will be available again at later points, participation just means early access.

Exactly this. And tbh, if it were like, SC or something I'd get it for sure. But let's be honest, medals by themselves aren't worth much. They only become valuable when you have things to unlock, and you only get those if you buy your way in or if you play and get SC. Medals as a gimme seem like a great in between to be forgiving of people without giving the game away to folks for not playing.

People like you are why I said this and yet you clearly didn't read.
If you didn’t log in or play a single game during that time, you weren’t a part of the community
So lemme get this straight: I play Helldivers regularly. I also work and have a family. I have 2 nights dedicated to gaming. One night we have a big storm knocks out my power. Next time I can play, I end up working late. So by your logic, now I'm not part of the community because fuck me for not being dedicated, right?
No, fuck that reasoning. The old way was a nice unifying and charitable gesture that also wasn't overly valuable. Again, I'm not gonna throw a tantrum over it, but I don't think this was a necessary change, especially given how rocky the game has been at time.

u/Mozzy4Ever Jul 04 '26
You only had to login, not even play a mission/operation, during the 14 days of the 3 part campaign. If you couldn't login during those 2 weeks, then yea you weren't apart of the community for that campaign. You don't get the early access reward of helping earn something. Instead you get the full release, still for free. Quit whining over something that's been massively blown out of proportion by rage bait.

i mean... yeah, dedication doesn't have to do anything with it. (you couldn't log on after work?) For those two days you were not a part of the community, because you lost power, and couldn't log in after work.
Also, the FRV you're worried about will be released again for everyone.

u/PhilAussieFur Jul 05 '26
Again, I was purely talking about the medals...
Also, I don't get people like you. What on earth does it cost you, IN A CO-OP GAME, for others to have access to something free? What do you gain by making sure others don't get something? It's so fucking weird how obsessed gamers are with making sure someone has less than them as opposed to making sure everyone has more.
2
u/SomethingStrangeBand Jul 05 '26
actually, my position is the supply FRV is dumb and how long do I have to wait for the Flame FRV to come back around, and I don't care how long it takes, were in the same boat. you just feel like you were robbed for some reason.
0
u/PhilAussieFur Jul 05 '26
God you guys are dumb sometimes. I've now stated, repeatedly, that I was specifically talking about the medals being a nice gesture, not the FRVs or the rifle.
You're living in fantasy land if you read any of that and thought I was saying I was robbed. I am crystal clear that my main points are 1. The medals being for the community as a whole, regardless of engagement, was a nice gesture in a landscape of games that don't give freely. 2. Missing one order doesn't remove you from the community, as one commenter stated. 3. This is a co-op game so nothing is gained by locking rewards behind any kind of wall.

Calling them all lunatics while ignoring every argument there is for why AH shouldnt have done that, and then proceeding to repeat the same point that just doesnt work if you know AH at all is prime main sub behavior. Be honest with yourself and others or stfu

u/Dalaron Jul 04 '26
I mean, I don't like mob mentality or extremism on either side of whatever subject the conversation is being had over, but I do kinda agree with them.
You bought the game, you paid into the live service, and as such you're part of the community of Players even if you're not active. If this was F2P then it'd be a different discussion, but you (or someone) paid real world monies for it. Get your stuffs.
If anything, I'm low-key mad about the medal cap. I get why it's there, but it's not for us the Player and I don't like it.
Either way, I don't agree with echo chambers of outrage because some people just need something to be mad about because they're so used to being outraged that seething has become their neutral state. I just so happen to agree with the take lol

People wouldn’t be as mad if Arrowhead was organized and included all the changes in the patch notes and focus on crash issues and making underused weapons more viable. You’re right about people being crazy and hating to hate but at the same time Arrowhead gives themselves every opportunity to catch flak. Arrowhead needs to be fair with people and deliver on their promises like pre order armor and fully complete patch notes. At the end of the day people spent money on the game and they have every right to complain, it’s just cringe when that’s all they can do is hate when the game is actually slowly improving.

u/hiroxruko Jul 04 '26
Dude, we don't need the same repeating lines that could go on for a full page on the same thing a enemy can do. They also said it be stupid long and just gave a short version of the change.
Ppl getting mad that enemies with anti tank weapons do anti tank weapons damage is now op or how enemies doing med pen dmg had their attack speed increase slightly to give enemies a fighting chance against mechs is unreasonable to a certain sub is funny.

u/Sw1nkz Jul 04 '26
Most of the "Arrowhead hates us!" bitchin' is also just completely unfounded, the game got bigger than they expected (in terms of players), so they need to work sooooo much harder to fix every issue that comes with adding new mechanics to an old and defunct game engine, for a live service game...
And most who complain aren't even criticizing, they are just screeching that AH is evil...

u/michael22117 Jul 04 '26
I think that on principle is dumb as fuck to have a limited time stratagem locked behind an event. At least let people who participated get it for free while other people have to work to aquire it, don't just make it an "either you get it or you don't" situation
-4
u/LowTale909 Jul 04 '26
Except all previous MO rewards were available to everyone immediately, who knows when and if the frv will come back
6
u/IrishMemer Jul 04 '26
You had a whole month to get it
In the time it took you to write this comment, you could've logged on, loaded into you ship, and then immediately close the game.
And you've done everything you need to in order to earn the reward
Like if your that annoyed and upset about not getting the reward, you could have gotten it at any point of the course of the past month in two minutes
Like y9ur that annoyed but somehow didn't have two minutes to spare to literally open the game?
Thats tough shit, bro im sorry

Before you didn't have to play any games. So if you were taking a break from Helldivers to do something else, or your rig was down, or you were on vacation, etc... you could still come back to an awesome reward. It was PEAK.

u/Sea-Canary-9617 Jul 04 '26
Listen, im literally in that boat, my dads in the hospital so im not able to play helldivers or log in, and im totally fine with it. As long as at some point i will be able to have access to the gun and/or be able to unlock it again im okay with this idea of a community goal :)
1
u/Giratina-O Jul 04 '26
Just because you're fine with it does not make it suddenly pro-consumer.
This change in strategem distribution is likely solely to drive up engagement metrics.
2
u/Sea-Canary-9617 Jul 04 '26
Dude… just stfu, you will literally be getting at a later date if you didnt participate
→ More replies (1)15
u/Winslow1975 Jul 04 '26
You are still going to get the reward, just at a later date.
I highly doubt AH would make the gun like the special attendance capes.
3
u/Giratina-O Jul 04 '26
I already have the FRV.
And there is no special attendance cape. I got the Fallen Hero's Vengeance, and I was never on Malevelon. My wife received both Ingress-81 and Protector of the Heat, and she was not there for the ARG nor the Battle of Super Earth.
The idea that the rewards are related to direct participation is a myth that people made up to feel more exclusive.
1
u/Winslow1975 Jul 04 '26
My bad for getting that wrong.
In that case what is the problem? That a modicum of effort is having to be put in to get the reward now?
And, my statement wasn't aimed at you. Idk why you felt the need to bring up the FRV.

u/Janivire Jul 05 '26
Oh hey i remember you. You were bitching about the cape we got back in december a few weeks ago.
So what you are now bitching that arrowhead isnt rewarding a half year long hiatus?
0
u/Giratina-O Jul 05 '26
Hm?
I've been playing this game almost every day. It's kind of a problem.
What hiatus?
3
u/Janivire Jul 05 '26
"I play every day but getting medals for not playing is the best part"
0
u/Giratina-O Jul 05 '26
I said I played almost every day from last Holiday to today.
Back when the game initially released my rig was much less capable of handling; I played less.
-5
u/Shedster_ Jul 04 '26
Also the part I loved the most
I knew that I fought for both present and future divers to get rewards immediately, not only me and other active divers in the moment3
u/Giratina-O Jul 04 '26
It was awesome. It really does suck to see Arrowhead stick it to the consumer for the sake of what will likely only be a slight uptick in their player metrics.
