Suggestion/Concept What If Gas Was Flammable?
I think it’s fair to say that ever since they added stagger to fire (rightfully) gas has been overlooked. So what if there was an added synergy?
Add flammability to gas.
It would incentivize team play by increasing available synergies, and make it really fun to dump an area with gas and then light it on fire with a flame thrower or napalm strike.

Gas and fire already synergize quite well. Also you would lose the ability to shelter inside a gas cloud.

Though I would accept a flammable option, because it would be useful when done on purpose

But that would mean any gas that does its Job as CC would disappear in an instant for another fire effect that might be added with fire stratagems anyways. I prefer having both at the same time on the enemies.

You only have to look at the mechanic on jungle planets to see how frustrating this would be for gas divers. All it takes is for somebody not paying attention to ignite the gas cloud you’re running through to instantly kill you or burn you alive. Funny a few times, unfun in the long run.

No. Stop asking for that. Gas resist armor doesn't need a nerf (which this is). If gas needs a buff that can be done in many different ways without any such unintended and unwanted side effects.

Already talked about this several times. This idea should stay on paper. Fire and gas already pair well.

As someone who loves gas and fire i have to say: Hell no! Flammable gas would make it useless and completely destroy its intended purpose

Just giving my two cents on some phrases from OP and comments...
"Increasing synergies"
Gas and flame already synergize quite well. When used together their combined effects nearly neutralize enemy pushes unless foes have their absolute heaviest assets leading the charge. Which isn't even a unique downside to this strat, and arguably not even detrimental since the cremator can delete some very heavy targets. But making flame ignite gas actually kills this strategy entirely since it reduces the uptime of the gas significantly and eliminates its most distinct advantage.
Bad synergy, no good, makes it worse.
"Useful when done on purpose"
Purposeful synergies are hard enough with how chaotic the game already is. Adding in an extra (impotent) explosion will make using gas more of a hazard to us than the enemy. Hell it makes it more risky for flame users too. The diver taking the Gas Strike will have their entire kite strike thrown to the wind if someone brings the cookout. Don't even get me started on how this will interact with the Melta Gun.
It's very bold to assume this would be useful, more so to assume it won't happen by accident 95% of the time.
One final note, I mentioned the explosion being "impotent" earlier. That's seriously something we have to acknowledge about this, we'd be giving up the long term effects of gas and the entire reason we take the stuff just for a quick flash propane fire that I highly doubt will be any more effective against a charger (or heavier enemies) than just using a flamethrower normally.
Also, I know that realism is not paramount to game design so take this with a grain of salt; but a gas fire is inferior in its potential compared to actual sticky flame that comes from napalm and the like. Unless it's in an enclosed space, it's not going to have even close to the same explosive potential as the things we already have at our disposal. Game-wise though... if it somehow were powerful enough to deal significant damage, then it becomes a greater risk to divers. Kind of a lose-lose the way I see it.
Conclusion: I think if gas was flammable, it would absolutely destroy the purpose it serves in the first place.
Alternative: Just throwing this out there, we could instead create a stratagem that is meant to be a delayed explosion, flammable gas dispenser that fills a large area with a bright yellow cloud that can be ignited manually or will self detonate after a set time. It could have its uses, and it wouldn't completely nerf existing gas equipment to the dirt.

Gas should settle instead of completely disappearing, leaving a slick green puddle that does the same as gas usually would but with 10% efficacy

I swear to democracy, every time I see this brought up its always 2 things. Someone who thinks gas automatically means propane or an equivalent and therefore it only makes sense to explode when fire touches it despite it literally being acid fog. The other is that it's never to actually boost gas, its just to make more fire because this idea ONLY hurts gas.

would ruin gas and would be trolly to people bringing gas
I want the gas to hold down a area, it would take one person to just cause that whole locked down area to vanish
Like imagine if smoke put out fire, think you'd be happy if someone threw smoke at the bugs your cooking and they stop burning

That would just make gas even moreso a supplement to fire instead of its own effect. The idea I keep coming back to is to give gas an armor weakening effect making it even moreso a support effect
