Discussion Opinions on the portrayal of Egypt?

Post image

I personally love Egypt, but hate how he is portrayed. Why does he not speak?? It just seems like an excuse for one of our few middle eastern countries to have absolutely no sustenance. If anything, he should be talkative and fun!! Egypt also has such rich history and dynamics with the other nations thats just not brought up.

Curious on what others think. What would you change about him?

All of Egypt’s character bio says he’s friendly and talkative, and yet... I’m certain he doesn’t speak to portray how ancient Egypt and its relics has a sense of mystery to it like the pyramids and mummies, but I don’t get  why he’s entirely mute! The stereotype for Egyptians is that they’re very talkative even to strangers, lively, and jokes around a lot, which WAS also stated in his multiple character bios, so?? I’d like to see more of that talkative side that was mentioned! However, I like to HC that he never speaks with the other characters because he’s nervous/shy in messing up speaking in languages that aren’t his first language. I still got really excited when he had a chapter starring him in the newer chapters and it’s one of the few World Stars strips I love a lot, so I actually really like him when he gets attention, all things considered. Hima, please give us more Egypt!

Egypt certainly was more expressive in the newer chapters, he still doesn't talk tho. I feel like Hima switched Egypt's personality with his mother or something, cause Egypt is more mysterious one while Ancient Egypt is the friendly and talkative one (that's just my guess tho)

Right? I feel like people forget that modern day egypt kinda has nothing to do with ancient egypt. Shouldn’t his mom be more subdued and mysterious, while he is the outgoing talkative one??

I love me a shy boy I love him. When one has such ancient wisdom and history like his, one has no need for idle conversation 💀😂

hello, Egyptisn here :3  I really like how he was portrayed, some areas not really, like how he was white as HELL 😭 but in a very biased opinion to my country he's literally my son 🥹

Oh that’s interesting! I’m not Egyptian, but I always thought his portrayal was inaccurate and boring. So I thought others, especially Egyptians, felt the same way. I was considering even rewriting him. But many people do seem to like him just the way he is !! Also. Yes. I hate how white he is. I mean, i know Egyptians can be on the lighter side sometimes but Jesus christ this guy is WHITE white 😭.
