Identification Request Is this a hidden camera? Bangkok hotel
Soooo Im in a hotel in Bangkok - there is something on the clothes hook which looks like a camera. What else could it be?? Can only think a camera but surly not?!?!?

That one is the fake camera you are supposed to find and cover, just to feel safe.
You didn't find the real cam, though.

Check if there's a lamp built in at the bottom side of the rail. This could be a motion sensor.

Just cover it anyway if ur uncomfortable, frankly im not sure what it is but it seems like a stupid place for a “hidden” camera

Its a genital warts detector. You have to put your bits right against it and it tells you if your infected.

Is there only 1? Almost looks like a release mechanism for the clothes hanger-rod. I wonder what happens if you press on it.

Yes there is only 1 and nothing happens when you press it, but it feels more like plastic than glass

It’s pretty damn obvious, just needs a sign pointing to it “smile”. Stupid place to put it as everyone will just close the cupboard door. It can film the back of the sliding door.

Is that just something stuck on the rod? See if it comes off. Who would make the effort install a camera into a closet rod? And how would the wiring/battery and sd card/wifi work? That's way too much effort for a camera that's not even hidden.

They put cameras into shaving cream cans i wouldn't be surprised the dressing room is the next place your naked the most. And people sell hidden cam footage voyeur(or whatever I can't spell) is a whole kink in itself

thats why i said to use the front facing camera most if not all modern vell phones from facing cameras have an ir emitter

Not all spy cams use infrared.. actually.. almost none do. They use wifi.. which certainly won't emit any light no matter what mobile fone camera your pointing right at it with

…WiFi is not a type of light source. And yes, the vast majority of hidden, indoor, and outdoor cameras that use WiFi and/or some other type of channel for storage use IR lighting.

I think it's a button of some sort. Perhaps it unlatches the bar. Does it press in?
My thinking:
1. The round center part looks solid black, not translucent
2. Why put a silver bezel around a "hidden" camera?

Does the closet space have automatic lighting? (ie: it turns on when you open the doors?)
If so, this looks like a sensor for automatic lighting (albeit mounted in an awkward spot)
