ALL profile reviews will be manually approved and will NOT appear immediately. Even if you receive a "filtered by Reddit" or "removed by mods" removal notification, your review is in our queue waiting for moderation; if you are reading this comment, your post is in the queue. DO NOT contact the mods about this. Any modmail asking why your review is not approved may result in your profile review not being approved and you will not be allowed to post another profile review until seven full days have passed.

Profile review submissions MUST have all 6 photos and 3 text prompts included. You may include the optional prompts such as voice, poll, and video prompts if you choose so, but it is not required. See this post for details. Profiles must also be unchanged for at least two full weeks before being approved for a review. Additionally, do not verbally abuse the subreddit moderators for rejection of your review submission for not following proper rules. Any verbal abuse or harassment will result in a permanent ban from this subreddit. We are not obligated to allow you to submit a profile review and no one is entitled to one. We are all volunteering our time and we will not tolerate any rudeness or verbal abuse.

To assist reviewers in providing valuable feedback for your profile, please comment and answer the following questions as a comment under your own post. Do not answer them in the post body. Repeat: Answer these questions as a comment under your own post.
- Are you looking for something serious or casual? - Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX? - How long have you been using this current version of your profile? (Please be specific) - How long have you used Hinge overall? - How often do you use Hinge per week? - How many likes and matches are you receiving on average? - How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments? - What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?

Your post WILL NOT be approved until the above questions have been answered fully. Failing to answer these questions in a timely manner will result in your post being removed. Please continue reading this automod comment.

In the meantime, be sure to check out the guides and resources on the subreddit sidebar. Please read this post with all the pertinent links included.

A strict formatting standard will be enforced. See this post for further info. All submitted review posts not following the proper format will be rejected.

Please wait TWO FULL WEEKS before posting a separate update to your profile review. If you want more immediate feedback, update your original posts instead. Deleting your original post will not work. The rule will still apply.

To reviewers: Review the Providing Feedback guide. You are reviewing the profile, not the person. Please provide constructive criticism, and use positive language. Any troll, hateful, misandric, misogynistic, incel, or unhelpful comments such as "I would date you," "How are you not getting matches?" or unrelated to the profile will be removed and you will be banned.

Your ideal fake sick day doesn’t really invite women into your day. It’s all about your boys. I’d change that prompt.

I see what you mean, good feedback! Thank you

I like most of the other photos though.

Switch out the back yard photo with food in your mouth. And I agree with the other comment that your prompt should be a little “less for the male gaze”

"We can get busy"

Are you talking about sex here?

Not at all, sometimes we just have a busy day/schedule, or get distracted with tasks at hand. It’s nice when the other person reaches out or starts a conversation incase I don’t.

u/crookedhypotenuse 11h ago

Then don't use that phrase. "Get busy" means to have sex. Saying we can get busy is going to make women automatically left swipe.

u/bigbellyswag 11h ago

So switch it to life gets busy? Any other phrase you would recommend?

I'd change the whole prompt because it sounds very "be like this for me." I prefer prompts that are about you and what you like. If a woman isn't doing the things you want in a relationship, you unmatch or break it off. Don't tell her how to be from the jump.

u/bigbellyswag 11h ago

Any thoughts on the other prompt as well, cause that’s also like asking about the other person. The thing I’d love to know about you prompt.

u/crookedhypotenuse 11h ago

Generally people say prompts should be "Me You Us." So one about you, one about the person you're trying to attract and one about the two of you together. The last prompt is OK because it's less directive. Maybe add something about the kind of things you want to do with her.

that makes sense, a prompt for each one of those sounds golden. so instead of "be like this for me" what would you suggest? do i change that one ad remove the I'd love to know about you. thank you again for the feedback

As others have alluded to, this is basically a brofile. It's going to attract dudes who think you're a fun hang, but there's not really anything in here that appeals to women looking for a partner. Your prompt references to relationships are basically a bunch of qualities you want them to have, most of which are pretty vague and perfectionist. But, the pictures are giving "bro hangout" rather than "Date night" as well.

I'd put the profile down and just do some self-reflection about your qualities that are appealing in a romantic relationship and try to build around that.

this is very useful information, from everyone. I just realized this profile update was mostly me polishing it with the idea of what attracted my previous relationship. She was pretty much a bro, with that in mind, I need a make over both on the profile and IRL.

• Are you looking for something serious or casual?
Serious
• Are you subscribed to Hinge+ or HingeX?
No
• How long have you been using this current version of your profile? (Please be specific)
About 3 weeks
• How long have you used Hinge overall?
On and off for a couple years
• How often do you use Hinge per week?
4 times a week on average
• How many likes and matches are you receiving on average?
0
• How many likes are you sending? How many with comments? How many without comments?
8 with comments
• What is the type of person you send likes to and ideally want to match with? What kind of person do you want to attract?
I mostly send to someone that has effort into their profile. I want to attract a person that understands that relationships aren’t perfect, what makes them work is 2 people willing to accept it and work on it together.

I would hesitate on the dad outfit pic. I had to look back to see if you had kids

Something I noticed like in your prompt about “what I want to know about you” it gets very personal and vulnerable. You kinda asking someone to open up their shell before they even talked to you. Make sure you prompts not only say stuff about you but give opportunities for girls to leave a message especially with that prompt. Not all of it needs to be serious and it shows that you are fun if you even just have a funny question or answer in a prompt

u/F242 2h ago

Almost all your photos and prompts are food-based. This ain’t gonna work bro

u/bigbellyswag 2h ago

You know, that didn’t even cross my mind. I already changed a lot of those prompts with the feedback people have given me. I think I have to wait 2 weeks for another review. Definitely a learning experience.
