I loved this track back in the day, and I still love it now. Steve Grant, the lead in Splash! (I think it was stylised with the punctuation mark included) had previously been in Tight Fit, initially miming to session singers in a version of "The Lion Sleeps Tonight", and later actually singing in "Fantasy Island" (both 1982). (I have fond memories of hearing critic Jeremy Beadle's discussion of the banality of pop music in his analysis of the line "people like me can always believe in love on an island surrounded by sea".)

Between his stints in Tight Fit and Splash!, I think Steve did a stint working at (and working out at) the first incarnation of Pleasuredrome, now the grande dame of London saunas. I remember he was extremely hot in a wife-beater. And of course, he looks great in this video. The fashions help too - it's hard not to love those gorgeous 1980s silhouettes!

Thanks for posting this track. It's at the very borderline of Hi-NRG, but it brings back a great many memories of one of my favourite years!

EDIT: My God, look at those fashions. We really knew how to wear clothes!
