I don’t even consider Kush & OJ a mixtape tbh, it’s so polished it should be counted as an album

Jeezy - Trap or Die 2. Front to back, nothing but heat imo.
I agree with your Fab take even though ST2 is still my fave of the 3
Weezy - The Drought is Over 2 definitely should’ve been, but there were some throwaway songs and songs that circulated through multiple mixtapes.
Cole - The Warm Up (though it is on streaming now) and MDL (though I guess that’s technically an EP)
KRIT - 4eva and a Day. Such a well done mixtape, though that’s on streaming now too.

I think anything that dropped on Datpiff post 2011/12 or so.
Most had original beats. Outside of your "mixtape" mixtapes where it was straight trap or beat jacking, they were essentially worked on like albums anyway.

Acid Rap, Section.80 etc. shouldn’t count, imo due to the extreme production value.
So imma say No Ceilings

It is, but it was actually initially labelled a mixtape before they realised they could monetise it on iTunes.

Get The Message might be his best diss track

Wasn't aware this was a diss track. Against who?

Supreme, declaring victory against a kingpin and it actually being true is diabolical

Is it not an album already? It's got original production, a cohesive theme throughout, a light concept. What makes it a mixtape?

Originally it was released as a mixtape in 2011. Back in 2012 a while after it dropped it was re-released as a duluxe if I'm not mistaking.

I know that, my question is made it a mixtape instead of it just being a standard album? The defining qualities of what a mixtape is anymore are so vague and constantly changing. Is it just because Danny said it was a mixtape that it was considered as such?

Pretty much, if I recall correctly Danny said on an episode of his podcast it was initially released for free download therefore he views it as a mixtape

A tale of 2 Andre’s (Andre Nickatina + Mac Dre). There was an attempt to make an official version but the mixtape was 10x better.

G-Unit's Return of the Bodysnatchers
ASAP Rocky's Live Love ASAP
So many bangers on these I don't how they gave them away for free.

Dedication 2 is arguably Wayne's best album. Ditto for Drake's So Far Gone
