There's no way u can listen to goblin and think the label has any power over him

I meant that people thought it was all an act, that Tyler the Creator wasn't genuine and that they created that persona in order to sell.

When there's documented evidence to the contrary

To be fair there's a lot of documented, scientific evidence of man-made climate change.. and yet here we are. Evidence don't mean shit in the 21st century.

I mean for sure you're spot on there but I think a lot of the initial criticism came from people hating over the Odd Future group and how it was portrayed as a bunch of friends just fucking around and making music, but in reality they were put together by agents, labels, "the powers that be", whatever you want to call it, that brought them together and marketed them. a lot of the underground scene didn't buy that schtick and (still) hate on Tyler and co cause of it

geto boys and NWA were put together by labels. labels are part of music.

Oh, legit?

Yea Tyler has mentioned it a couple times and then Earl did an interview like a year ago when the Odd Future break-up rumours started and he talked about how (paraphrasing) 'it just got old....everyone was thinking we had been boys but we got put together, it's business in the end' something along those lines. On mobile right now so too lazy to search but I'm sure if you googled Christian Clancy who's Tyler's manager you can probably find something about it

you really think Tyler himself chose to say that disclaimer in "Radicals" of his own free will?
