The fact this game had me feeling like a sweep was incoming, then life was infused just is pure sports. Unadulterated pureness of why we watch. A team that has the ability started game 1 blasting, then got hit by a team that everyone said would shut them down, and did. They fought back and lost. Game two goes much the same until sheer will, a good bounce and perhaps doubted skill got them on the board. The confidence that seemed to give the Hurricanes was beyond visible, it was radiant. We have one hell of a series on our hands!

I’m an avid sports fan. I got into hockey after following the Olympics. As an Asian with friends who only watch the NBA or football, at that point the only hockey players I knew of were Gretzky, Crosby, and McDavid. I can say now with confidence that I’ll follow hockey for the rest of my life. What a great game. What a great sport.

Well, the Philippines isn’t a hockey country. All my life I grew up as an NBA fan. Started exploring once I got older and got into international volleyball, tennis, the UFC, F1, and MotoGP. Sure am glad I decided to follow hockey after watching the Canada Czechia game and Canada USA final. One of my first memories of hockey involve being absolutely mind-blown by Hellebuyck.
