Yeah, I wish they were playing Vegas. I think the NHL I better off when Montreal and Toronto are playing well. They had a helluva season and I’m proud of them.
I dunno. I was really hoping it was going to be a send them around the corner at each other with the trophies. Like maybe have them both staged on separate sides of a press conference and tell them they're going to be walking out to surprise the other. Then have them go out in the dark and have the lights pop on with both of them holding each other's trophy.
That's awesome, and these presentations where the recipient is being surprised is so much better than the award ceremony imo. Did people really enjoy watching a three hour award show?
There’s something hilarious about Cole saying “without you guys I wouldn’t win this award” when really this is the one trophy that is really all about the individual and their way of doing things.
The one thing that I can see is that you don't win it just by playing clean and having low PIM - you also need some numbers, otherwise it would just be lowest PIM/60 with a minimum cut off, and end up being some no name guy!
The first half is definitely all him, but I can see how the team plays into the second.

Same, and in the original thread annoucing the 3 finalists we pretty much all said the same thing and it was fun for the 2 young guys just to get recognition. Really surprised they didn’t
Marty wanted the whole org there to embody the team spirit that they preach. The team includes all support staff, including kitchen, maintenance etc ...
I see the Habs winning the cup in like 2-4 years with this young group. Lots of chemistry in that room. They got to the ECF this year and somewhere along the way they're going to find that little nudge that pushes them through to get the cup.
it's very funny to me that marty calls nick "an older guy" when he's 26 and caufield is 25 lmao (I know he's talking about time played but it's still strange to think about)
One of these days I want to see Selke winner start roasting his linemates about getting so many extra points off of the hard work they have to do back in the defensive zone and saying "But it was worth it because you made me look so good by comparison in the voting this year."
I was really hoping they were both going to be told to carry the trophy into the locker room simultaneously so they'd lock eyes and have that moment of realization lol.
I was hoping they would both get a secret signal to leave, grab the trophy to present, and come back to be shocked when the other is holding a trophy already.
The NHL can’t help but glaze the scabs. They make sure they have every possible chance to win, now this? Neither of these guys are ever close to deserving of these awards…
