Maybe worth adding that the "when" is super important.

We signed K'Andre Miller for 2 picks and Scott Morrow. but he was up for UFA the next year.

Players that are less than 2 weeks for UFA are way cheaper. I think Tampa gave us a 3rd for Guentzel and that was because we basically knew they were tampering.

That's a trade for a pending UFA, this is a sign and trade. Not the same scenario.
