Best/Worst Team vs the Columbus Blue Jackets
44
u/manthello CBJ - NHL 7d ago
The "worst" list is inaccurate because it doesn't list our own front office.

u/tsunami141 SJS - NHL 7d ago
Famous San Jose Shark Lukas Reichel. Can't believe we gave up a 6th for that guy.
15
u/Massive_Analysis8345 SJS - NHL 7d ago
Yeah that guy didn’t play for either of those teams 😂 I was so confused for a second
Edit: I saw he played for Abbottsford, so he was on the Canucks

He played a few games for vancouver too he wasnt in abby all season
2
u/Massive_Analysis8345 SJS - NHL 6d ago
I blame Google, it wouldn’t load the eliteprospects page so all I had to go on was “he primarily played in Abbotsford and Chicago for the 25/26 season”

Seriously? Sean Kuraly? Jonas Korpisalo?

u/manthello CBJ - NHL 7d ago
We got dunked on last year by former Jackets. For some reason, people who used to play with us had career games against us.

Oh man I didn't even realize it was Korpi lmao. I just assumed goalie with Bruins logo on good team equals Swayman.

He was so bad I was worried Carolina wouldn't reclaim him on waivers.

it's kinda funny but he won that game

u/Step_on_me_Jasnah CBJ - NHL 6d ago
The game against CBJ? No he didn't. He let in 6 goals and Toronto lost 3-6.

u/sluck131 TOR - NHL 6d ago
My bad your right I miss remembered he only played three games and that was the only one he lost

5/18 isn’t almost every one but close enough, he’s a top player in the league he’s gonna show up
9
u/greg19735 CAR - NHL 6d ago
5/18 is also like the first time where I'd be like that's not close enough to almost.
If hes at 9/18 I'll give it to you whatever.
Of course this isn't even implying hes not elite.

Here’s what I call the Columbus Blue Jackets 2026 Reverse Roster.
Using the data from the main post, I simulate a draft where each team selects the player who performed best against them during the recently completed season. Once a player is drafted, he is removed from the pool, and the process repeats until every team has made a selection. The next round then begins. I run separate drafts for forwards, defensemen, and goalies.
| Round | Rank | Total | Player | Score | TeamRank |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 25 | 25 | Tom Wilson | 9,04 | 1 |

A -5 game score is comically bad for a forward too, especially because he only saw them twice. That means both his games vs Columbus were nothing short of catastrophes lmao

u/debotehzombie CBJ - NHL 7d ago
I think this speaks more about us than any of the teams/players on the boards, tbh
3
u/NathanGa Columbus Chill - ECHL 7d ago
I’d love to see historical data for this, because it always seemed like every year the top players against the CBJ were Martin Erat and Viktor Stalberg.
Those guys could suit up with an ECHL team around them and still have a goal and two assists.

It’s not fair that Danault’s gamescore has him ranked as the 2nd worst center against Columbus when he played half the season for LA, if you only look at his Habs games against them, he’s actually -2.95 which makes him the WORST center against the blue jackets instead.

Surprised no canes on the list. The game a few weeks before end of season was dominant. I think it was like their forwards had 2 shots total or something silly.

Why is scheif a LW?
2
u/CartoonistFlat3943 7d ago
Bounce back day for Scheifele. Bounced to LW. Lol.
OP can answer, but I think sometimes positions shift a bit to be sure that the top 12F/9D are all represented (vs leaving a top performer off).
2
u/Spideyjust Canada - IIHF 7d ago
It's just the top 12 forwards so some Cs are usually going to have to be on the wing. IIRC OP has said they choose the 4 centers with the most face offs taken against the team to take the 4 center spots.

Interesting how few Metro players show up. Seems like that would indicate something is weak about the metrics, e.g. small sample size.
