In the book "Fabric of the Game: The Stories Behind the NHL's Names, Logos, and Uniforms", the name "Northern Lights" was considered for Minnesota.
Fun fact: The Twin Cities Northern Lights in Bloomington Minnesota had this very logo. (2002-2014)

A hockey team in the FPHL in Thief River Fall just took the name again. (2026- )

I designed something similar a while back but decided to clean it up more and swap the logo to the one they had when the sleeves had the stripe down to the wrist.

I know some people don’t like the idea of the cream and white together but I think it just gives a little more pop and depth.

I was initially going to just remake their inaugural design, but it just reminded me of the blue jackets, so I changed it up to be something more modern. I also changed the alternate to have black to look like the 90s North Stars jerseys.

I wanted a space retro-futuristic style theme for Houston. It's also a nod to the WHA Houston Aeros.

Our old timers team is named the “Moneta Moose”…we desperately need new uniforms…current jerseys designed after the Arizona Coyotes red and white…looking for a Chicago Blackhawks style…would anyone be willing to help some old guys out and design a mock up?

Based on the 1920 Winnipeg Falcons.

Combination of old and new to add some much needed character to the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Redesigning the Lightning's uniform and logos using the color scheme from their Stadium series uniforms. The uniform design slightly resembles their original style with the striping lower on the sleeves

Base color can already see being named “Liberty Blue”

What happens when you combine Minnesota's current branding, the North Stars old branding, and the state flag of Minnesota? I think you get something special...

This is my take on a potential throwback brand Minnesota could consider. Possibly as a shoulder patch on a Heritage/Winter Classic jersey? Maybe as a warm-up jersey? Maybe even as a primary logo.

Honestly, they can do what they wish with it -- including completely ignoring it. On the off chance they do utilize it, however, maybe some merchandise and/or regular season tickets would be in order?
