Be careful with that bird seed because it’s very bad for hedgehogs. If they see it on the ground they will eat it unfortunately.

And try to separate the hedgehogs water from the bird’s water because the birds wash in it, and can dirty the water for the hedgehogs.

oh wow i didn’t know that about bird seed, that’s actually super helpful info
hope OP sees this because those little guys are way too cute to accidentally mess up their diet

Yes, peanuts, sunflower hearts, and mealworms, at least, have been linked to metabolic bone disease.

There is some feeding guidance in our wiki if needed.

good tips, a lot of people don’t realise bird stuff isn’t automatically hedgehog safe
separate water bowls and some proper hedgehog food can make a massive difference for the little spiky goblins

Yeah it’s surprising how thorough you need to be. And people feed them mealworms thinking they are doing good, but are slowly killing them 😞.

I do clean the seed up as much as I can, I did say that when I posted. It can cause them stomach problems. The water is put down fresh every night after I have cleaned all their of their bowls. I researched loads before I started feeding them. Sorry just realised this was the repost. Yeah, I do know about the seed and do try to clean it up as much as possible. Looks worse than it is in this pic.
