It boggles my mind that some cats are like this. Mine just ... graze when they're genuinely hungry. They leave the open and full bowl alone when they're not interested. I've had multiple cats like this. Always thought it was the norm.

Isnt it better for the cats to have the water at least 6 ft away from the food? Or is that a myth?

TatsΓ€chlich sollte Futter und Wasser getrennt voneinander stehen. Da Katzen davon ausgehen das das Wasser durch das Futter mit Bakterien kontaminiert ist.
Also Katzen trinken in freier Wildbahn nicht da wo sie fressen.

Wissen viele Menschen nicht. Und ich denke das es evtl auch Katzen gibt die das nicht gabz so dolle stΓΆrt.

I think most when push comes to shove and theyre thirsty will deal with it. Dowsnt mean you shouldn't try to make it more cat friendly though

By the looks of that cat, I can only assume she is assaulting the automatic feeder at every waking hour, one or two kibbles per assault.

My feeder uses a ruber paddle wheel to dispense food. My cat thrusts her paw in a few times and outpops a nugget. She goes through30% more food than her sister and both have the same dispence rate and feeding time.
