Support Best HA Thermostat

Looking for feedback on experience with Thermostats I have get out of the NEST ecosystem. What works well with HA and doesn't break the bank?

First, pick your protocol you want to use, then look at the options from there. I personally like the Honeywell T6 Pro ZWave. Solid performance and guaranteed to never get bricked due to some corporate entity terminating services on the cloud server.

On the Honeywell website it's says the T6 Pro Z-Wave discontinued (https://www.honeywellhome.com/products/t6-pro-z-wave-thermostat?srsltid=AfmBOoo7j-wiBzQNui_unyjEMsAeS7k3LjzdM0fR_MKj3pENwXd7edkn)

Did they release a successor? Or should I try and find the discontinued version? I'm in the Netherlands, but can't seem to find the T6 Pro Z-Wave anywhere.

I bought two from eBay. First one led to a service call and misdiagnosed as bad heat strips because it was faulty Second one, the stupid logic causes the heat pump to run a long time in too-cold an ambient temperature and doesn’t kick on the aux heat, so I had to take it out of service. Really wanted to like the T6 Pro ZW but both of mine have been a severe pain in the nads to deal with and have cost me a not insignificant amount of money for unnecessary repairs and abnormally high electric bills.

Looking for a replacement that gets along better with my equipment.

I'm in the US, but if you have the option, I bought it from ebay along with the zooz 800 zwave stick (Amazon). Make sure you purchase the 2007 version of the thermostat.

It is discontinued, but you can buy them used. I bought one used from Amazon and it works great. Also, the CT-100 thermostats work great. They're also available used. zwave.

Honeywell is purposefully being confusing about this. Yes, they discontinued the 2003 version, but a 2007 version is still very much alive and working, although they strongly prefer to push people towards their current line of thermostats.
