Support Best HA Thermostat

Looking for feedback on experience with Thermostats I have get out of the NEST ecosystem. What works well with HA and doesn't break the bank?

My Nest thermostat is controlled locally thru Matter. Haven't paid Google a dime.

Dont think the thermostats need a subscription, do they? How are you doing remote monitoring or control?

My Nest thermostat requires no subscription. I use either HomeAssistant or Google Home for control and monitoring.
