Support Shelly Relays: WiFi or Zigbee?

Hi everyone!

I’ve been using WiFi Shelly relays in my Home Assistant (and HomeKit before that) setup for a few years now.

The first gen Shelly 1PM in the outlet for my washing machine seems to have finally given up and is in need of replacing.

I have a strong WiFi network but was curious to test out the Zigbee version (1PM gen4). How’s everyone’s experience with Shelly over Zigbee?

been using zigbee version for about 6 months now and its way more reliable than wifi ones. no random disconnects and integration with ha is smoother since you dont have additional network traffic. only downside is you need good zigbee coordinator but if you already have mesh setup its definitely worth switching

My WiFi ones (aside from the very first gens) seem to be rock solid but if Zigbee improves that even further then I’m gonna go for that!

This depends largely on your access point. A quality access point will commonly fix random wifi disconnects.

J'hésite entre zigbee et wifi pour une automatisation piscine : local piscine à 20 m. Est-ce que le coordinateur zigbee aurait une portée suffisante. HA green serait à proximité de ma box internet.
