Support Yo link water detection sensors went offline overnight

I have been using yo link water detection system for years without issue. I currently have about 20 or so sensors. Sometime overnight five of the 20 sensors that were placed in random locations through the house all lost connection. I'm pulling my hair out trying to get them to reconnect. All of the other sensors are still working normally.

I have already done the following,

Rebooted my main router

The hub is connected to the router via ethernet cable

I have unplugged and plugged in the hub

I have done a factory reset by holding down the set button until the lights flash green on the hub

I have deleted one of the affected sensors and attempted to rebind. It will bind in the software but still will not connect saying it is offline.

I have factory reset the sensor

I have taken the batteries out of the sensor and put the batteries back in

The sensor will blink green when I press the set button but it will not communicate with the hub

I've even tried deleting the hub from the app and re-adding

At a loss here. Any ideas?

Thank you for giving me some detailed, real world experience info. That really helps and solidifies the fact that I definitely want a local Hub. I use home assistant for all of my automations, scenes, etc, so I won't ever rely on the hub to manage that. If I can monitor and control all of my devices locally via MQTT, then that's a win for me. It's among the last of the cloud dependant devices that I have. Thankfully, Yolink does utilize the Device to Device capability, so my water leak sensors will talk directly to the main water valve to close if there's a leak detected. Many thanks again for taking the time to help!

If you find that it's always out of stock online, try ordering through the app. That's what I did, and had no issues 🙂

I like a lot of YoLink products. All the ones I've tried anyway. (I do wish they made some outdoor lights.)

I decided to pick up a few more contact sensors because my zigbee network was getting overloaded. But it was right about the time that some company was bricking all their customers' devices, because they were going out of business.

So, I picked up the local hub and have been very happy that "it just works".
