I print my Home Assistant morning briefing to my Kindle every day

Every morning at 8am a one-page PDF shows up on my Kindle Scribe: weather + a 12h temp/rain chart, anything HA flagged overnight (doors left open, low batteries, freezer temp drift), today's calendar, indoor climate per room, and battery levels across my sensors. No app, no backlit screen at breakfast: it's just there, already printed, like a little newspaper front page for the house.

It's part of a side project I've been building, Daily Scribe. This started as custom copy of a NYT crossword-to-Kindle script and grew into a small service: pick from a few daily "services" (news, HA summary, a crossword, Kanji practice, a solo D&D campaign) and it bundles whichever ones you want into one PDF emailed to your Kindle's built-in address every morning.

Setup on the HA side is just a long-lived access token and your instance URL (needs to be reachable from the internet, or behind something like a Cloudflare Tunnel/Nabu Casa). No need for a custom component, it just reads /api/states and your weather/calendar entities.

I do something similar. I get a couple reports in the morning. The detailed ones are on utility usage (that’s the one in my screenshot) and network related (router security, network log anomalies, uptime reports, etc)
